A 10-ton fishing boat has been sunk by gigantic jellyfish off eastern Japan.

-snip-

The crew of the fishing boat was thrown into the sea when the vessel capsized, but the three men were rescued by another trawler, according to the Mainichi newspaper. The local Coast Guard office reported that the weather was clear and the sea was calm at the time of the accident.

I'm sure some expert will blame "climate change" for the population explosion in giant jellyfish. Like maybe this one, who is starting to resemble a giant jellyfish himself:

Let’s see, a 10-ton boat is about 20,000 pounds. And they were trying to haul in a net containing “dozens” of 440-pound giant jellyfish. Three dozen of those things would be roughly 16,000 pounds. I think I can see the potential there for capsizing. Those blobs are big.

Good for the Japs, there are way too many useless whales!

Harpoon a whale, save a fat chick!

Every whale they kill saves 20,000 chickens and 42 million krill.

The thing must have weighed several tons to capsize a fishing trawler!

Maybe Mothra lives!
