Did the Patriots have the week off? Oh, never mind.
(Yes, I know the Pats didn’t start until the AFL)

Whatever happened to the Brooklyn Dodgers? (I know. They moved to L.A.)

My Rams won ugly in the rain and mud, but a win is a win.

Actually, these Brooklyn Dodgers didn’t move to L.A. In 1944 they changed their name to the Brooklyn Tigers and then in 1945 they merged with the Boston Yanks in an attempt to survive as a team. The owner, Dan Topping decided in 1945 to accept the New York franchise for the new All-American Football Conference and the NFL canceled his franchise. Thus ended the Brooklyn Dodger football team.

Dan Topping. That name sounds familiar. Did he own another sports franchise?

Actually he was part owner of the New York Yankees until 1964. That’s probably why he sounds familiar.
