Nicole Kidman and Gwyneth Paltrow are to play husband and wife in a new film about the world's first post-operative transsexual.
Kidman will play Einar Wegener, the Danish artist who was born a man and married illustrator Gerda Gottlieb in 1904.
Charlize Theron was originally attached to play Gottlieb, but Paltrow has now signed on for the role, according to Variety.
The film, The Danish Girl, will be produced by Kidman's own company, Blossom Films. It is based on the international best-seller of the same name by David Ebershoff.
Eimar was said to have discovered his true inclinations when he stood in for a female model who was due to pose for one of Gottlieb's paintings, dressing in women's clothes and make-up.
He became a regular model for Gottlieb, which scandalised Copenhagen society when the secret came out. The couple moved to the more liberal-minded Paris, where Wegener adopted the alter ego of Lili Elbe.
Wegener and Gottlieb maintained their unconventional marriage until 1929, when Wegener embarked upon a series of sex change operations. The marriage was annulled - as both were now women, the King of Denmark declared it invalid - and Gottlieb went on to wed an Italian diplomat.
In 1931, Wegener died after undergoing a final operation which she hoped would enable her to have children.

I never saw it, but I saw a picture of VR in The Golden Turkey Awards, pretending to be transexual male. She looked absurd!
I only know of Percy from the Kinks’ soundtrack album.
And my references were to surgical films.

I said, and I quote: "This is going to suck. The movies are all going to have subtitles (I hate subtitles) and they'll be about a bunch of gays exploring their feelings."
Mrs WBill, of course, said "Nononononono. Nothinglikethat. It'll be fun. Trust me."
The first movie onscreen was subtitled, and about a couple of German Lesbians. Think "Witness to Denial", only without the hot chicks, great dialog, and high standards of acting+editing.
I stand vindicated. And, I've not let her forget about it, yet. It's been about 10 years, though. I've pretty much used it up and beaten it to death. :-)

One of my turning moments against the homosexual agenda. The big thing was “don’t tell the ending”. So me and a friend are watching it and he’s like “this movie sucks”, I agree but I say “it’s suppose to be good”. Then the girl is a guy and we stopped it right there. The worst movie every!

Are you sure thats a picture of them? According to the article, the artist died in 1931 and those look like 1950s dresses and hairstyles.
