Microsoft Store employees perform dance of the cringe (video)

Why is it that whenever Microsoft tries to have a little "fun" it comes across as creepy or overly controlled? This time it's Microsoft's Mission Viejo Store employees engaged in a fit of awkward boogie that some would call the Electric Slide. Oh boy, corporate fun... it's a bit like corporate rock only less natural. Now go ahead and view the entire 4 minutes and 44 seconds of the video after the break, we double-dog dare you.

Yikes! If all those participants were staff at that store, it’s no wonder Microsoft has been floundering for so many years. Actually, here’s hoping that Windows 7 takes off and does well.

For some reason, the Seinfeld episode with this quote comes to mind

"It's more like a full-body dry heave set to music." - George, about Elaine's dancing.

From Microsoft or any the similar hi-tech companies? Bunch of dumb ass 20 yr old-something socialist zombies indoctrinated to believe that company chants & choreographed dances are a "good" thing to engage. These are the same dumb asses who cry & chant & worship 0bozo, and who would love nothing better than a complete totalitarian socialist society and Big Brother government. What a bunch of ignorant dumb asses!!!

ps. I work for a similar hi-tech company that constantly is pushing the same type of crap on us. I don't even go the cafeteria any longer, so that I don't have to walk past rows or posters or indoctrination or propoganda espousing some other socialist, diversity piece of crap.

Funny, I remember the "OS Wars" when Windows, an inferior Operating System was competing with OS/2, a highly advanced and unmatched OS even today.

At that time the Press favored Windows because they considered IBM as an old-hat stodgy company whose employees wore suits and who sang company songs.

Needless to say, I preferred OS/2. Another example of the Press backing the wrong side for the wrong reasons.

The really frightening part is, they’ve obviously been working on these “sweeeet moooves” for some time.

If all those participants were staff at that store, it’s no wonder Microsoft has been floundering for so many years.

I think some of them are customers. Orange shirt who kind of looks like Ballmer is a customer. The young ladies with purses are customers.

Actually, here’s hoping that Windows 7 takes off and does well.

Why? Are you only comfortable running computer software that everyone else around you runs? No one at work really likes Microsoft Windows, though it has become a standard for the pointy haired manager-types. I'm starting to see stuff in my company inbox that indicates that Microsoft Windows 7 may not be all that great either.

I'm a Unix/Linux/Mac OS X kind of guy. I wouldn't "take the plunge" to Microsoft Windows 7 for anything. I don't like any Microsoft Windows' interface, it makes me feel like driving an ice pick through my forehead. Should I have to pay for that kind of user experience?

I love KDE (yes, the KDE4 release was botched) and Mac OS X though.

You are on the wrong forum. There is nothing socialist about promoting corporate loyalty with employees.

That’s like those steak restaurants that stop serving their customers at peak hours and break out into country line dancing. Texas Roadhouse loves to do this and it’s annoying.

Even worse?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7dCuN6a1YE

“Now how ssswinging’ are these folks? Mission Viejo Microsoft Store, November 12.

“If it looks like an Apple Store, that’s because... well, um, Microsoft kinda borrowed an idea or two, and I’m not talking about the graphical user interface, or the mouse, or the windowing interface or... ahem. But line dancing retail-store staff? That’s truly a Microsoft innovation, entirely its own. Because Microsoft is cool, and down with the vibe, man. Heck, even their word-processor is “Word.”

“That’s the Black Eyed Peas stompin’ out “Tonight’s Gonna Be A Good Night,” by the way. Cool upon cool. That weenie “I’m a Mac” guy’s going home alone tonight, that much is certain, ‘cause all the babes will be jumpin’ PC Guy. They can’t help themselves.”
