Daily Mail ^ | 11/24/09

After the whirlwind attack the mother squirrel springs free of the dog and rushes her baby back up into the safety of the tree.

The frustrated dog is left sitting forlornly at the base of the tree as its prey escapes into the upper branches.

I got tons of squirrels trying to steal my birdseed, I just shoosh them off.

They are cute to watch for a while, and have been getting braver and braver as time goes by.

It’s easy to get the warm fuzzy feelings over an animal that’s cute.
But there is no doubt in my mind that if you messed with a squirrel who got up on the wrong side of the tree this morning, he could make you wish you were never born!
Tough little suckaz! And fast!

A little late in the year for baby squirrels.

Actually there is a little park just outside of Griffith Park in Los Angeles that has literally hundreds and hundreds of squirrels. My kitten was mesmerized by them and we would sit at a picnic table with a half dozen of them on the tabletop.

After awhile I began to get a queasy feeling about them. Although they are cute and fun to watch, I would not want to go one-on-one with them.

I like them. but keep my distance.

Get one of those pole feeders with the dish on top - then spray the pole with WD-40. Squirrels can't climb up it...

I feed the squirrels - they're way more interesting than birds :~)

Wouldn’t it be nice if Republican politicians fought as hard to protect our liberties as this mommy squirrel fought for her baby.

Huh.

Not much of a dog.

My dog kills and eats groundhogs, possums, skunks, squirrels and coons. And cats.

Not kidding about the skunks either. She likes the smell, seems like. Unfortunately for me.

She’d take a deer too if she could catch one...keeps trying...so far no luck.

Why yes. It would be *very* nice.

I'm not holding my breath, though.

It appears that a squirl has more sense to protect its baby than a pro-abort NOW member.
