JoeDanMedia ^ | 11/28/09 | Joe Dan Gorman

Posted on 11/28/2009 9:12:44 AM PST by PatrioticPeasant

He needs our help and he is exceptional, it is Joe Dan Gorman of JoeDanMedia, which started up this past August.
Please visit JoeDanMedia and check out a couple of his videos, it ain't no joke.
With ZERO budget, and a laptop in the basement, he passed 100,000 Unique Hits on YouTube in less thank 4 months,
has a fan page on facebook  and he has done this by creating powerful masterpieces.

This is RED MEAT stuff;  And he is under attack by nasty Liberals...so you know he's doing something right!

I promise you will like him.  We need to get him noticed.  He's been doing this for free, but he's out of money.

If you like it, please share when comfortable.  Thanks for checkin it out.

There are some videos on the front page, but use the Tab "THE VIDEOS" where each video has its own page and a bigger screen

How many times will this be posted? I recall seeing this same title yesterday. One plug should do it.

As for me, I’m somewhat dubious about the general intelligence and antecedents of an individual named “Joe Dan” anything, but then again, perhaps I’m just a snob.

Poster's a newb, month and a half on FR, probably hasn't found the courtesy guidelines and traditions threads yet.

Hey PatrioticPeasant, welcome to FreeRepublic! :)

By the way, while chat is okay, blog-pimping generally does better in the bloggers section. It's considered both polite and effective to include some sample content in the pimp thread, so that readers can figure out whether they want to hit a site they've never heard about. Many of us don't click on random links. Thanks!

And perhaps there are other FReepers like me who had not seen it before, and still others who have not seen it yet who might want to support his effort, but wouldn’t know about it if only a single post were made.

Those are good reasons for the OP to bump his original thread, not to keep reposting it.

I’m not going to say “snob” but to stereotype this guy would be a mistake. Different regions have different traditions... and I don’t know about you, but most people I know did not name themselves.

Did u even check it out before you took your name swipe?

Conservatives need to infiltrate the Entertainment industry, so we can have any impact on today’s culture.

And this guy is in their face.

Sorry, you are upset. With the thousands of threads here, I think it is important enough to let like-minded folks know.

Contrary to your assumptions, I’m not upset. Nor am I against vanity posts, in general, given that one of the purposes of this place is the free expression of ideas.

That being said, re-posts of the same plug - word for word, at that - are annoying and unnecessary. If people read your post and are interested, they will visit your site. As another poster noted, you can bump your original post to gain more attention.

I’m quite aware of interesting naming conventions, too, being from the South. That being said, your point about people not naming themselves is quite correct; I therefore retract my little jibe in that vein.

To answer the question of most import: yes, I did visit the site and took a listen. I’m glad that Joe Dan is taking a conservative approach. Good luck to him in his aspirations to a musical career. Further I shall not say.

I enjoy the music. I just can’t afford to support him right now. I wish him the best.

Well, I like some of it and think there is talent there. Some of it is derivative. For example, the conservative woman song has a Beatles vibe in part of it. You can almost start singing I’m The Walrus but, because it is about conservative women, it would be “I’m she, as you are she, and we are all together.” The sowing the seeds of destruction video music reminds me of the Tears for Fears Beatlesque song “Sowing the Seeds of Love.” Maybe it’s a twist on that song. I don’t know how intentional any of this is but that’s what my ears are telling me.

Music business is a hard go and generally few make it big. There are more millionaire lottery ticket winners than successful top 40 artists — one or more every week compared to how many artists every week? But if you love music without crossing the line into making it a full time career it shouldn’t matter — have your day job and do it on the side.

If these are demos I suggest stronger vocals and maybe less of the very overt political angle. More subtlety would make it more effective so that the audience may be wider, otherwise, you’re appealing only to the die hard political base (especially with the overt imagery). It’s like what the punk bands did against Bush — no subtlety in the message. Everything become a slogan or worst, a cliche.

Best of luck.

Agreed; suggesting a BTT and how to easily do so would be more appropriate for new posters than carping about it unconstructively. (Click “Pings” at the top of the page to find your old posts.)
