I have heard that the original Coca-Cola sponsored version still exists somewhere. Someone needs to get it on Youtube!
Christmastime is here again is such a sad, wistful song.
It perfectly captures the mood of a cold winter Christmas, but it always depresses me a little bit to hear it.
Guaraldi could really capture moods. It was so sad he never got his due as a very, very good composer until after he passed. If you haven’t heard “Cast Your Fate to the Wind” then you haven’t heard what I consider to be the most pure piano number of all time (that’s for readers of the thread — I am sure you have, cb).

There was a story on NPR that the guy who was making a special on Charles Schultz heard "Cast your fate.." on the radio while driving over the Golden Gate bridge. He thought it was perfect, and that led to the creation of the Charlie Brown Christmas.
Interesting how the free market works.
Love the Peanuts gang!

Linus King James version scripture reading from Luke 2: 8-14, read:
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
