Schedule for tonight:
8:00/7:00 Doctor Who: The David Tennant Special
8:30/7:30 Doctor Who: The End of Time Part 2
bump
I sure wish I got BBC2
But Eccelston was still the best Dr
This is going to be good but I’m sad to see him go and the new guy looks like a ponce.
I am willing to give him a chance. I wasn’t sure about Tennant starting out either.
I enjoyed Eccleston’s portrayal, but 13 eps was too short to fully develop the character vs. Tennant, IMHO. I wish he had stayed on for another season.
And Pt4
Opps..thats “world War 3”
Lots of strong characters.
I should actually be more open minded myself, my first switch on the program was back in 1974 when my first Doctor (Pertwee) gave way to Tom Baker....and look how that turned out! lol. Miss old Pertwee though still.
I hope pt. 2 picks it up a bit. That first part was incredibly stupid, and I am a LONG time fan of the Doctor. My babysitter turned me on to it when I was 6 or so with what was then a new episode "The Brain of Morbius" (Tom Baker). Yeah, I am dating myself, here, but I wanted to emphasize the point that I have seen almost every episode (I actually have them all), and this was the WORST EVER.
God, I hope Davies wrote this. I don't think the new head writer (Steven Moffatt) is capable of such drivel. I was really hoping that they would send this Doctor (Tennant) off with an awesome Moffatt story.
I am getting ready to watch pt. 2 in a few minutes, and I will let you guys know if I liked it. I hated the water zombies of Mars story, too, at first, but it turned out to be great. Hopefully this turns out the same way.
Happy New Year!
I read that Bernard Cribbins (Wilfred) was a contender for Pertwee’s replacement. I think it’s great he got his chance to be on Dr. Who.
Bernard is a very good actor and I am glad he comes back on Dr. Who from time to time. I like Catherine Tate a lot and was kind of hoping she would turn out to be Romana in disguise.
The special is on!! 30 mins till the End of Time..
I was trying to think where I recognized him from, so I looked it up... he was the spoon salesman that Basil nearly strangles in the ‘Hotel Inspectors’ episode of Fawlty Towers.
cool, I didn’t know that. I love Fawlty Towers.
In my time zone Alaska I just noticed that my Dishnetwork wasn’t recording this episode even though I gave it high priority and to record all NEW episodes, just some info.
I manually set it up to record in a little while.
The show is about to start!!!
