Absolutely will!! Just believe. All are sinners and fall short of the glory-— right? Where do you loose your salvation? How many sins? What kind of sin? If you don’t live “right” is it a sin?? If it is a sin ,are you not saved from your sins by the atonement of Jesus Christ? Talk to me.

I believe in the words of Jesus Christ, but not in much of what passes for Christian theology.

It’s clear from his teachings that just “believing” without following is not the path. Anyone who sincerely believes his words will follow his instructions and teachings. Not saying anyone has to be perfect in the beginning, but if people think “Jesus will suffer for me, so I can keep on sinning” - then such people are the swine he said not to throw pearls to.

It’s like a wife or husband professing great love and then cheating over and over again.

One’s actions are the proof of the condition of the heart. He taught that good fruit would come from a good tree, and bad fruit from a bad tree.

Pretty simple.

Plus, if a person is experiencing even a drop of love for God, this pleasure and joy makes any temptations the world has to offer look like dry sand. If someone keeps falling again and again into what the world has to offer, it is proof that such as person is not close to God, is not feeling love for Him, nor the love for others that flows from such love. What to speak of simple faith that keeps one determined and strong.

Jesus said to follow him - that doesn’t just mean walking the same dusty paths in the middle east, it means following his words, his teachings, and his example.

John 3:16 is not a lie. You think it is a lie!!!When Christ died on the cross there was a new covenant and the law is over!!! Are you a “professional Christian” wanting people to give you money so you can make your house payment when Christ scoffed at the “Temple Tax” and “tithing” is nowhere in the New Testament? (A “cheerful giver” gives to the poor— NOT professional Christians)

You’re frothing at the mouth. I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. Wanting people to give me money? You don’t know me at all.

I’m saying that people who say “I’m saved because I believe in Jesus” but then don’t follow his actual instructions are shallow exploiters who think they can ride on the suffering of Jesus and continue to wallow in the mud of hedonism and self-will. Jesus was very clear, in the instructions that have made it through 2,000 years. He held his followers to high standards of behavior and motive and purity of heart.

It is not so easy to be a faithful follower of Jesus. It requires more than shouting “I believe” and living the same old like of selfishness and sin.

If someone “believes” in Jesus but doesn’t believe in his words and teachings, then what the heck do they believe in?

They believe that he is their doormat to wipe their bloody sins on. They are happy he suffered torture, thinking that they are now scott free to do whatever they want and they can wipe their bloddy mess on him.

They could not be more wrong. A real servant and follower of Jesus is sorry beyond words that he suffered, and wants to follow his teachings and instructions to please him and God the father. Such a sincere soul will never think that Jesus’ suffering is an excuse to be the same fallen sinner they were before they heard about Jesus.

I believe Jesus’ words, not most of what passes for Christian theology.

Professoinal??

You’ve got to be kidding.

First of all, I don’t call myself a “Christian”. I call myself a poor soul who tries to love God and His servants and show mercy to the ignorant. Second, I make a tiny, tiny bit of money with my herbal business and if somehow or other, someone wanted to give me money in connection with helping people spiritually, I would refuse it.

Ha ha.

Check my posting history and you won’t ask such ridiculous questions.

Buddy, I made it crystal clear that no one gives me money other than my very small and insignificant herb business. Why on earth you are making these crazy accusations I have no idea. I have not attended a church since (hmm...thinking...) maybe late 1980s. As a one time event to please a relative.

I think you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about.

BTW - I don’t listen to any Christian preachers, either.

Ok then. I can’t stand rip off people who say “give me money — I am the agent of God”. “Church” is not in the Greek. Now as to “believe “ or :Amaan” in the Greek. It simply mean to accept as true steadfastly. What is it about John 3:16 you don’t “believe”?

I don’t know what John 3:16 says. Mostly I read what Jesus himself said. Or is quoted to have said.

I’ll check back tomorrow.

You at least should apologize for your irrational ranting and accusations. Not that it matters to me, but heck! You are so off the mark that it’s downright ludicrous.

Why are you picking on little jeremiah.Just the name make me like them -him-her.Speak in nicer tones.
15
8 9 10 When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”
16
He then said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”
17
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” (Jesus) said to him, “Feed my sheep.

You are a student of what Jesus said. Based on the saying of Jesus, give a list of acts and omissions — a complete list so that we won’t violate one and not be saved.

Fatima - thank you!!

The verse in question to me is clear.

Jesus Christ is saying to Simon that he should care for fellow believers. He should help guide them, and love them.

Looks pretty simple to me.

And the “feed my sheep” looks to mean with spiritual food, not that Simon should become a cook in a large kitchen.

And I think the catarac person is very disruptive and wants to do nothing but attack others. Catarac, you’re a new member. You need to understand that it is not good form to wildly attack people here with crazy accusations.

And I am a mrs! ;-) Little jeremiah is my second screen name - I am small, trying to tell the truth in my small way, and Jeremiah in the Bible also was not liked or accepted by hardly anyone, even his own family (which happened to me, due to my comments on FR, got in a huge problem with family who found me here. Two still won’t talk to me, 7 years later.)

I feel very close to Catholics!!! They have the same moral standards, and very devotional and personal in beliefs. Actually I was wrong about being in a church so long ago.

In 2001, I spent 6 months on the other side of the continent taking care of my dying mother. On the weekends I would often stay at a sister’s house in a nearby town and for relief I would go sit in a nearby Catholic church - open during the day, Thank God - and sit there and pray and meditate in peace and a holy atmosphere.
