If you use firefox you can download the greasemonkey add-on which has a freerepublic "fix" that gives you a better system for posting. It makes doing pics, links, etc extremely easy.

1. find a photo already on the net that you will use
2. right click on that photo
3. click on 'properties' --this shows the address of where that photo "lives"
4. highlight that complete address, then press control c --that address is now copied into your computers temporary memory

5. Type this
6. position your cursor between those quotation marks
7. past the address into that space

See, the < > marks are telling the computer, "hey here, the human is talking to YOU, Mr. computer....and not to humans....

Get it?

img src basically means IMAGE SOURCE

If the picture is on your computer, you will need to post it on a web-hosting site (such as photobucket.com) and then you can use that URL to post the image here.

Posting photos is actually easy. go to http://photobucket.com/ sign up for a free accnt. use the browse button to find the pics you want to post on your computer, or from a web page. click upload. photobucket will give you an address—— http://whatever.jpg when you want to post on FR use this html code in front of your pic address You now have pics available. You might want to open a notepad window to save your pic addresses, and the html codes for posting them Paste your pic address between the “” and you are good to go! Please try to post small pics (1 mb or less) as it burns badwdth, and those of us stuck in dial up land wont be able to view them.

1. find a photo already on the net that you will use. Or upload it to a “photo hosting service” (can find on google. Each photo on such a site, has an address, kinda like houses have addresses)
2. right click on that photo
3. click on ‘properties’ —this shows the address of where that photo “lives”
4. highlight that complete address, then press control c —that address is now copied into your computers temporary memory

5. Type this: < img src= “” > (img is short for IMAGE, and src is short for SOURCE)
6. position your cursor between those quotation marks
7. past the address into that space, in between the quotation marks

See, crazy words and numbers located between the “< >” marks are telling the computer, “hey here, the human is talking to YOU, Mr. computer....and not to humans....” So it knows to keep that stuff secret between the coder and the computer..it’s not shown to human viewers.

Cuz when a person is typing computer code, some of those words are for computers only, and then other of those words are instead aimed at humans, right? So you gots to have a way of distinguishing those two different things, dig?

Get it?

you have to link to a pix online, place it there yourself if it only exists on your computer. create a picasa, flickr or snapfish account, (all free). Its fun!
