When John Edwards discovered that his mistress was pregnant he wanted her to abort their baby and even asked one of his aides to help talk her into doing it.
That revelation comes from The Politician, a new book by Andrew Young, Edwards’ long-time aide. Young helped Edwards cover up his cheating scandal and even publicly claimed to be the father of Rielle Hunter’s baby to mislead the press while Edwards ran for president.

Lawdy, that's a good point I didn't even think about. It was bad enough that Edwards publicly denied the child's parentage, when he clearly knew it was his. But, to be on the record advocating for your daughters murder, that quite something else. Poor kid, I don't care what kind of environment he'll provide for her moving forward. That's some baggage.
Maybe Edwards should buy commercial time at Super Bowl and tells us how an abortion would have been the right thing to do.

Respectfully, I think you misread the story. She didn't want an abortion, he wanted her to have an abortion. And, he went as far as having one of his flunkies try and talk her into it.
I can't imagine how he thinks that would make him look sympathetic.

She wanted the baby bank account. Seriously, this is a hazard for these wealthy men. It often takes $20,000 to $50,000 a month for baby, plus all the housing expenses for the goldplated babies and baby mommas.

200K / year to Rielle is small small change compared to what divorce from Elizabeth will cost.
