Misleading and deceptive hotel marketing photos are all over the web. Below is a series of cases where Oyster's undoctored photos revealed dramatic differences between the flattering images you'll see on these hotels' own websites and the reality guests find when they arrive.

I fully agree with you!My worst nightmare in a hotel room was one with a neon sign oustide the window and no curtains to block out the garish lights,and to top it off, there where bedbugs in the matress.
It was the sleaziest hotel I ever had the misfortune to stay in!

Can you imagigine this flashing on and off all night and unable to shut out the light?

Was it run by Indians? I know, I’m a racist, but it is my experience that those are the worst. Further, even though I search for good qualtity chain-types, I find those run by other nationals always post those sleazy warnings about prosecuting thieves. When the management takes an adversarial position against the guests, it is time to keep looking.

finding a good hotel is easy...........if the name has the word “inn” in it, then do not go in....

I agree. The worse one I ever stayed in was the nationality that you mentioned. Absolutely filthy, smelly and looked the furniture came from the dump.

Interesting photos, the funniest is the Macy’s next to pool.

I have personally stayed at both the Soho Grand and the Four Seasons in Miami.

The photos the hotels show are very close if not exactly like the rooms. Not kidding. Reporters for Oyster may have been given the maids quarters or something.

As much as I travel, I can tell you not many gyms ever look as good or as updated as the photos on a website lead you to believe.

I’ve been in some great hotel gyms that put expensive gyms to shame.
