It would be nice if more FReepers filled in their "About Me" page.

I've been here since late 2002. Many times I would like to know a little about a poster, but they haven't created an About Me page. It sometimes helps to frame the context of a comment, and besides, this forum feels like family. So please, take ten minutes or so and let the rest of us know a thing or two about you. I think it might help if there were several page templates for people to use.

Honestly, I had some stuff up, and took it down because debate opponents would use the information to make the debate a personal attack. I got tired of it, and removed all (or most) of the information.

LOL! That’s why I keep my about me page blank. Besides, there isn’t enough space to tell everyone all the good things about me.
The only time I check out a freeper is if I suspect and imposter or noobie before slamming them.

Folks tend to go there in search of something to use against you in a disagreement.

Over the years I've had all kinds of stuff on there but some
peckerhead always finds a way to spin whatever is there in a negative way.

Even pictures of pets.

Liberals apparently do not have a monopoly on obnoxious people (though they do seem to have a majority).

I’m not completely against disclosing information, and I will do so in threads when the information seems warranted ... so if someone wanted to research my threads, they could find out a bit — I’m a tax lawyer, Baptist, Texan, gun-owner, out-of-my-league wife, 2 kids, etc.

But, I won’t put it on the “About Me” page, lest I get another — “well of course you think that, you ambulance-chasing leech”. People tend to respond to actual arguments more frequently when they don’t know anything about you to make it personal.
