Sons of Confederate Veterans have a role in modern America

The Sons of Confederate Veterans (S.C.V.) is a fraternal organization composed of male descendents of the men who served in the Confederate Armed Forces during the War for Southern Independence. Their emblems include the controversial Confederate battle flag. Their core responsibility is articulated in a charge given to them by Lt. General Stephen D. Lee which calls on them to defend the heritage, honor, and reputation of the Confederate soldier and the Cause they fought for.

The Cause they fought for was individual liberty, state's rights, the original Constitution and the right to secede. In essence, Confederates fought an aggressive Union which would not allow the states to exercise an accepted right of secession. This right had been exercised by all the original states when they withdrew from the government of the Articles of Confederation, and entered the present day United States of America. Further, the Tenth Amendment reserved all powers not addressed in the Constitution to the States and people respectively. And lastly, the new union was formed as each individual state entered the union.

Indeed, southern honor at its finest....

Actually, according the website from which you swiped the photograph, which is about Brown vs The Board of Education of Topeka, its Kansan honor at it's finest. This should come as no surprise to anyone of any real education in American history. American segregation should always be especially associated with the Midwest. The truth is that the South has always been the least segregated part of the country.

I really should have pointed all interested readers to the website from which starlifter boosted that excellent depiction of Midwestern hospitality: http://elbeltonfoundation.com/.

Did the Easter Bunny tell you that?

I believe it was George Wallace who said, “I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.”

The history books are wrong and he was in fact from the mid-west.

Good grief, George Wallace was not standing in the door of a school in Topeka, which I assure you is located in Kansas. READ the website. Don't just look at the pictures.

No, it’s because he’s soft on many social issues from abortion to Islam.

Just look at his historical posts.

But aside from all that he’s great.

“I think that a stirring rendition of “I’m a Lost Cause Freeper” is in order, in honor of Idabilly, cowboyway, and Lee’s Ghost. And also since Friday is the Great Man’s 201st birthday. Will you do the honors?”

What does the “Honorable MAMA'S BABY, DADDY'S MAYBE Non-Sequitur” bring upon us common folks today?

Rendition? We are in continued celebration of our heroes and pledge ourselves against you and yours.

Lost Causer? Better than being a submissive B!tch. Just because you and your “Love Boutique, Big Governmental, Mattress Back Friends” like the taste of the federal boot; nevertheless don't expect others to share in the disgrace.

Southern reality versus Yankee myth. Nice to see you moved to Tennessee, most of my ancestors family from East Tennessee in the Knoxville area, Monroe and McMinn counties. Prior in Virginia, but that is way way back. Photobucket One of the ancestors living quarters built in 1823. 3rd (Vaughn's) Tennessee Infantry Regiment.

Well, my immediate family plus two older aunts who moved to be close by are all that’s here.

The other 100 plus in my clan are still down there with you which will always be home for me....Prep-Ole Miss...long ago.

My great X4 grandpa was Pappy Tom Sullivan of Smith County ..me and another 1500 folks today..lol

I live now in Williamson county on the old Dawes Plantation remains just a hair from the old Harrison House of Battle of Franklin fame....I can see Carnton too from the hilltop behind my home....and Winstead and Breezy hills are about 800 yards to my northwest ...if you know much about the battle

For the first time since I left Jackson for good 28 years ago I feel at home more or less. But I still go down there a lot...several times per year.

You're trying to be insulting, aren't you?

Rendition? We are in continued celebration of our heroes and pledge ourselves against you and yours.

Then your heroes are poorly served by the low quality of their supporters.

Lost Causer? Better than being a submissive B!tch. Just because you and your “Love Boutique, Big Governmental, Mattress Back Friends” like the taste of the federal boot; nevertheless don't expect others to share in the disgrace.

Yadda, yadda, yadda. Blah, blah, blah. Typical incoherent Idabilly post. You really need to wipe the foam off your mouth and calm down.
