I remember when a Hershey bar cost a nickel!
I stopped buying them when they moved production to Mexico.
I keep this emergency roll on the commode. It's hilarious when guests
exit the bathroom laughing.
Fir cones work pretty good (they’re on the papery side), just make sure you go with the grain and not against the grain. Learned that on a NOLS course. STP is good, too (snow toilet paper).
HAHAHAhahahaha!
Fir cones? OUCHIE!
You’d be surprised, they actually don’t bite and work pretty good. But, like I said, the direction is critical.
I like the snow idea...we’ll have plenty of thet tomorrow—and it’s free!
No...you didn’t! HAHAhaha.
First of all, I can’t believe I’m boring enough to engage in conversation about toilet paper, but I guess I am.
I actually find Scott to be high quality and strong. I also like the fact that the rolls aren’t so loose that they lose their shape while hanging on the roll. There is a generic brand that is technically cheaper than Scott; but, its quality is terrible.
Sure Charmin Ultra is much stronger (and bulkier which may be bad for my septic system), but it costs triple what Scott does.
I know, I know, toilet paper is an infinitely small portion of my monthly budget, so why not buy the good stuff? I think I would, if it wasn’t wrapped around the roll so loose. Something about the loos fluffy roll really annoys me.
But isn’t Scott only one-ply ?? Do you not, then, need more of it?
Charmin is terrible—it clogs up the newer lowflow toilets.
It is banned from my house forever.
I had to check - it is one ply. I hadn’t even noticed, so that hasn’t been a problem for me. All I know is the Scott Four Pack lasts longer in my house than on on Charmin 8 pack. It may be ‘quilted’ and two ply, but its wrapped around the roll like cotton candy, its so loose.
If its one ply then you need to fold it over, so it actually half the bargain you thought. Northern Quilted is double ply.
Here are the brands used around my home
New York Times
LA Times
Washington Post
Philadelphia Inquirer
good one.
Same thing has happened to White Cloud. The rolls are now about .5” shorter and many feet shorter.
Have you seen the little cans of green beans or corn. These were half the size of normal but priced the same. I was shocked seeing the little can.
I haven’t seen the cans yet but the 12 oz frozen veggies bags that used to be 16oz have me more than mad. I have many recipes that call for 16 oz I’d rather pay more than have too small of a bag.
