No Moon Shot? Hmmm...why is that exactly?

What, no Moon Shot?

Why is that exactly. Ok, here's my hypothesis and premise.

Obama is not shy about spending our money. But, he does want the US to be back to the Palestinian Stone Age (analogy there). So, if he has no issues with making irrecoverable deficits, spending big government dollars, then, there are 3 real reasons for not spending money on the Moon:

1. A moon project would rally America to feel good about ourselves again...can't do that, he has to have us feeling bad and hopeless (Cloward-Piven) 2. A moon project has technology spin-offs that would benefit America (yes, it's debatable, but mostly true) 3. A moon project is considered "Colonization", and, when you hate America, you can't have America expanding its territories, hence, he'd rather the Russians, the Chinese, or anyone else have it who are NOT us or our allies.

There, that's my premise and hypothesis...let's discuss.

A guy who has no issues with spending copious dollars of our future generations must have hidden issues with a Moon trip.

I wonder what role the moon plays in Islam? Would going to the moon under his presidency violate some Islamic tenet?

Cloward-Piven

Without any doubt! There is no other explanation for the actions of the current ruling fascists.

My guess? The “race for space” requires a winner. But obama wants a level playing field. Maybe if the UN organized a space mission he would support that.

I don’t think it’s any more complicated than him prioritizing social programs over space/military spending.

obama is not intellectually interested in progress.........the ONLY progress he wants is in his community organizer roots......wealth redistribution. He wants the ultimate welfare state to please his people. an affirmative action harvard grad who cannot even pronounce corpsman and has no interest in furthering our technology. yeah, that’s change we can believe in.

Well according to more than one of our astronauts we were “warned off” the Moon last time we were there...:o)

But I think he just does not give a rat’s ass about space exploration.

Allah was at the time of Mohamed a Moon god. It is so to this day. He took over a moon cult and turned it into a religion. His god was not the god of Abraham.

Normally I might agree with you, but in these times we can’t afford a new bucket to pee in, much less a trip to the moon AGAIN.

I think that is exactly it. obama's whole agenda seems to be internally focused: transforming America into his socialist/fascist dream state, his idealistic vision. (my nightmare)

Everything else is a distant second. He can't really be bothered with threats like Iran and NK, allies, the two wars going on, science, etc. He is all about socialism, first, last, always.

The saddest thing to me is that so many seem to be chugging the privatization kool aide. Its a wonderful goal but its also a fantasy as long as the international outer space treaty exists. Space is off limits to profit makers and military just like Antarctica.

As far as American companies are concerned, space taxis and cargo haulers is all they can aspire to. Aside from the occasional communications satellite they’ll primarily work on government contracts anyway.

China on the other hand isn’t going to let any stinking treaties get in their way. They’ve already shown an interest in militarization and if they find a profit to be made we’ll be decades behind if ever.

Yeah, going to the moon is like ONE percent of his slush fund. Can’t be wasting it on something useless. /S

Exactomundo!

Obama wants a mindless meek society that will be his worker ants, its all about HIS ideologies, the Marxism views, HIS idea of America co-existing with Islam.

The problem is when you mate a horse with a donkey you may get a unique animal but they by themselves cannot breed any alike, mules do not breed more mules.

Space is one of the rare instances where it generally would take government and/or military action to plow the way for private companies to follow although I have no objections if a private venture wants to go to the moon on their own.

As far as American companies are concerned, space taxis and cargo haulers is all they can aspire to. Aside from the occasional communications satellite they’ll primarily work on government contracts anyway.

Sad, ain't it? We are not only spinning our wheels in the snow but going backwards.

I have to give my hats off to Red China and the Indians. They realize that 90% of all treaties are worthless and are actually a hamper on development. I have one rule, "treaties are made to be broken" and follow that with the corrolary, "just ask any American Indian."

From the “for what its worth department”:

A certain professor, who wished to remain anonymous, was engaged in a discussion with Neil Armstrong during a NASA symposium. Professor: What REALLY happened out there with Apollo 11? Armstrong: It was incredible, of course we had always known there was a possibility - the fact is, we were warned off! There was never any question then of a space station or a moon city. Professor: How do you mean “warned off”? Armstrong: I can’t go into details, except to say that their ships were far superior to ours both in size and technology - Boy, were they big!...and menacing! No, there is no question of a space station. Professor: But NASA had other missions after Apollo 11? Armstrong: Naturally - NASA was committed at that time, and couldn’t risk panic on Earth. But it really was a quick scoop and back again. According to a Dr. Vladimir Azhazha: “Neil Armstrong relayed the message to Mission Control that two large, mysterious objects were watching them after having landed near the Moon module (LEM). But this message was never heard by the public - because NASA censored it.”
