The Man who Shot Liberty Valance.???I love that one...it is in my top 30 somewhere....like I said I was not focusing today....but it is up there....
Shane was a great movie but I couldnt stand the kid in that movie....
High Noon was a pro-commie anti-blacklisting movie...and it was to the point the John Wayne read the script and turned it down for that reason...republican Gary Cooper, had no idea what the symolism was in that flick....

That's SMERSH (Russian: СМЕРШ, acronym of SMERt' SHpionam, Russian: СМЕРть Шпионам, English: Death to Spies) were the counter-intelligence departments in the Soviet Army formed in late '42 or even earlier, but officially founded on April 14th, 1943.[1][2] The name is phonetically similar to the Russian words "смерч" (smerch) for tornado and "смерть" (smert) for death.

yes...I saw that the other day and am not happy with that.
leave it alone....and just watch the original....why oh why must they tamper with genius.
Hey....Lucky Ned Pepper, in the original, was played by the Consiglieri himself, Robert (Gus McCrae) Duvall....smells like victory!!!

Minor point, but I believe you have the Connery Bond chronology a bit askewed:
1962 Dr No
1963 From Russia With Love
1964 Goldfinger
1965 Thunderball
1967 You only Live Twice
1971 Diamonds are Forever
1983 Never Say Never Again{{{shudder a BAD remake of Thunderball}}} the last three - definitely sleepwalked through role.

The Unforgiven was great. However, my favorite is The Outlaw Josey Wales. You’ll never again see a Southerner (during the Civil war) be portrayed as the Protagonist in a Western. Nonetheless, it was a great story.

The Coens have stated they are going to try to stay much closer to the book than the first movie. If anyone can get things right, they can. I would say the most important role is Mattie, so it will be interesting to see who they cast for it.
Last time Jeff Bridges worked with the Coens he had his signature role, so they should work well together.

Now I'm confused...thought David Niven was the 'model' for Ian Fleming's Bond. Nivens being a WWII commando yet still setting forth a suave and poised character in most of his movies.
Thought I read that Fleming stated George Lazenby (Australian) in 1968 'Her Majesty's Secret Service' was the closest to Fleming's Bond character.

and also, it was not my thing, I'm glad for that.

I think it was supposed to be Clint, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach as the 3 desperadoes waiting on the train.

I actually paid money to see itIt was an enjoyable movie. We still watch it whenever it comes on.
Between family and friends, I am known by two names. My given name and my nickname.
People would kid my wife about having two husbands. After this movie she called me "Partner" for about a year.
