Emmy-winning actor Alec Baldwin blew a gasket Thursday and attacked a photographer while police and a pack of reporters looked on with amazement.
"This guy! This guy!" the actor yelled as he burst out of a lobby and grabbed New York Post photographer Tim Wiencis by the collar. Cops immediately pulled the actor off Wiencis and hustled him back inside.
A witness said Baldwin was pacing around the lobby muttering: "They are the lowest scum of the Earth. They are the lowest scum of the Earth."
Meanwhile, an incredulous Wiencis told cops, "He just assaulted me."
No charges were filed...

Why did Baldwin go to the hospital if nothing was wrong? The paramedics certainly could not take him against his will?
Not that the NY Post would get a story wrong, but he spent about an hour in the hospital - not exactly what one would expect if he actually did “threaten suicide, [and] take a bunch of pills”.
Ahem...in the interest of truth (according to the N.Y. Post): "Alec Baldwin fought with his 14-year-old daughter, taunting, "I'm going to take some pills. I'm going to end this" -- and then got furious when the panicked teen called 911, police and sources said.
Sources said Baldwin, 51, first got into a fight with daughter Ireland over the phone at around midnight -- and made the girl nervous when he allegedly told her: "I'm tired of this. I'm going to take some pills. I'm going to end this." Then he hung up.
Ireland tried calling her dad back a short time later, but he didn't pick up the phone. Panicked, she called police.
Sources said the call came in as a "possible alcohol or drug overdose."
(Ture, she wasn't there but he was unresponsive to her trying to call back...What was the daughter supposed to think?)
He deserves an Emmy for his non-acting role in this latest episode

Baldwin is fraying badly at the edges, and he’s only 51.
He has always had a bad temper, but the past 4-5 years have found him going astray even taking THAT into account.

Baldwin apparently forgot to live up the last word in your first sentence" "man"...he acts like a spoiled adolescent who cannot seem to man up to accept his responsibility of acting like a 51-year-old father of a 14-year-old daughter and accepting the pain that an ex-wife cab deal out without whimpering. If he needs some lessons he can give me a call (I raised two daughters as a divorced dad).

I stand corrected. Plus, I did not mean to imply that Shatner is particularly ill-tempered. I just meant he’s pudgy.
I stand corrected. Yesterday I said that Baldwin had learned humility and control and had reformed some. I was wrong on both counts.

This guy is rotting in a cesspool of self-hatred and loathing. He really needs prayer folks.
After having read several different accounts of this incident, I am going to take the strange and uncomfortable position of being on A. Baldwins’ side.
It does look like this was a sham perpetrated on him by ex-wife Kim Bassinger.
Depends on how often the lawn gets mowed.
