Here in America before you can get the surgery you have to lose weight to show you are committed and you still must go on a diet after the surgery.
My neighbour was turned down for the surgery she put on 10 lbs while on diet..
The surgery is not magic,whether you have bands or they remove part of your stomach you must still watch caloric intake.
I live in a town where 80% of the people are overweight. And I’m not kidding. I go to restaurants and these fat slobs are gorging themselves on the cheap buffets. I’m sorry, but after awhile it takes a toll. It says a lot about our Society, whether you like it or not.
The thing that baffles me the most is these young girls. They are obese, and they still wear tube tops and tight jeans with their fat hanging over. DON’T THEY OWN A MIRROR?
We lead much more sedentary lives than we used to. Add to that decades of “big is beautiful” propaganda, the “don’t judge me” mantra and the “right” to not be offended and it’s no wonder we’ve become a nation of chubbies.
With her attitude of not liking the word “diet” he most likely lost his patience with her. By severing the doctor patient relationship he probably figured that gastric bypass would do her no good and didn’t want to preform it for her because of that.If you go back to eating like you always did after gastic bypass you can stretch the stomach back out and become fat again. Roseanne Barr is a perfect example of this.
Most of the time they only talk gastic bypass if you are over a 100# overweight. Some doctors won’t even take you as a patient unless you are even bigger than that. It is not somthing that is done for someone just a little plump.
In the US, most docs won’t perform a gastric bypass or liposuction unless and until the patient has followed a healthy, weight-loss regime for around six months. Otherwise, it’s a waste of resources as the patient hasn’t done a THING to change his/her ‘lifestyle’ and would only be back for additional surgery in a matter of time.
One would assume that this women went to this particular doc because he has expertise in the field and has performed the procedure on any number of patients. Unless he exploded at all of his prior patients, it might be assumed she was quite obese and also quite dense and not willing to listen to plain English about what SHE had to do to justify his performing the surgery (and the state medical program’s paying for it).
This article was about a government employee in a socialist health care system using the f word on a fat patient he disrespects. He was disciplined for it. This was followed by knee jerk dummies commenting on hating and disrespecting fat people.
It’s my opinion that if someone wants to be fat they are free to be fat. I won’t ridicule, cuss or hate them because they are fat and I don’t have respect for bullies who do that to others. I have been friends with fat people and people are more than their imperfect bodies to me.
If Michelle Obama is successful in turing the dogs lose on fat people the same way the socialists turned lose the dogs on smokers, I am going to kick the dogs. It’s going to “progress” onto handicapped people, racial groups, old people, etc. Stomp it out now. We don’t want a Nazi or Stalin culture.
...the doctor said "f..." at least three times after the 44-year-old obese woman told him she did not like the word "diet" and preferred the term "lifestyle".Okay, so, I can see both sides of this, so what? Quit staring at my gut.
