Pricedale Man Jailed, Paroled For Barking At Police Dog

GREENSBURG, Pa. -- A Pricedale man nicknamed "Big Dog" has been sentenced to jail, but was then immediately paroled, after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct for barking at a police dog.

Norris Daniels, 57, entered the guilty plea Friday and was sentenced to two to 12 months in jail by a Westmoreland County judge.

The judge immediately paroled Daniels, who had been jailed unable to post bond since his arrest on Jan. 27, and ordered Daniels to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Monessen police said Daniels was taunting a police dog in the back of a police cruiser and kept barking at the animal after an officer told him to stop.

Glad to see that there is no real crime in Greensburg.

Usually best to take a direct order from a police officer to stop doing something seriously. Not saying you stop . . . but be prepared to take it all the way, court, accusations of abuse of authority and the like if you decide to ignore the cop.

Maybe we should see all elected officials (including judges) undergo a mental health evaluation before they are sworn in.

I wonder if he would've seen the same charge if he'd been waving a donut at the officer in the squad car instead of barking.

The best way for the officer to handle this was to realize that the guy is a nut and mentally coo-coo; then get in his cruiser and drive away. Case over and tax dollars saved.

ROFLOL I knew a guy who barked at a police dog and got arrested. That guy now works at the Pentagon and is very well educated and quite sane. He was in college at the time of the incident.
