Home country? Obama’s mother supposedly left after he was born there and he never returned. Michelle’s comment supports the fact that Obama was born in Kenya. Coupled with the fact that his father was not an American citizen and this turns into a violation of Article 2, Section 1 of the U.S. Constituion- one must be a natural born citizen to serve as President...... Obama is not eligible!
I think there are two arguments to be made. One, yes, there are many who think he was born in Kenya and many who claim he told them he was. Two, this “son of the soil” business is just an old saying meaning his ancestors came from there. It doesn’t necessarily mean he, himself was born there. It has as little meaning as “homeland” does when applied to the eligibility question. He can claim the phrases were merely terms of speech.
