A creature dubbed the 'oriental yeti' is being examined by scientists after emerging from ancient woodlands in remote central China.
The hairless beast was trapped by hunters in Sichuan province after locals reported spotting what they thought was a bear.
Hunter Lu Chin explained: "It looks a bit like a bear but it doesn't have any fur and it has a tail like a kangaroo."
"It also does not sound like a bear - it has a voice more like a cat and it is calling all the time - perhaps it is looking for the rest of its kind or maybe it's the last one?

taste like chicken....
If this is the “yeti” that everyone is so afraid of, that cage better be 10 feet high.
If it’s like the East Coast Beast a while back it will turn out to be something known - but hairless due to something like mange.
Its half man, half bear and half pig!
Whatever it is it has mange!
Looks like some kind of cat with skin problems.

Big deal. We have a shaved sasquatch in the White House.
Aren’t yetis offended by being called oriental?
Was it caught in the Fire Swamp? It looks like a rodent of unusual size.
Moo Goo Gai Yeti
I'm guessing a lesser panda...of course this is Asia, and I remember one night in Korea seeing a rat about the size of a 'possum...
Just a Chupacabra.
That thing looks like one of my hangovers.
“Chinese find mangy dog.”
“Sichuan province “
That means it should be served hot and spicy.
There are none in this country because we have so many Chinese restaurants.
I once gave a cat to some Chinese kids for a pet. I saw them a week later and asked them how the cat was.
They replied, “Delicious.”
Looks like a hairless opossum........
This what happens to you if you are on Obuumercare.
this thing is better looking than our Yeti.

This article prompts two questions: 1) Why are the bears losing their hair, which is a mystery right now, and 2) who thought bears would look so different without the hair?
Whos taken my fur coat? Vets baffled by bald bears with mystery condition.
The photos are remarkable because the animals dont look like bears at all. They look like something out of Ghostbusters.
You can see the hairless bears in this video:
Hairless Bear is Quite Frightening!!
Hyena; it looks like a sick, mangy hyena. Might be mangy canine something or other.
Could be Lesser Panda. Also could be a Raccoon Dog. Whatever it is, it clearly lost its fur through some type of injury or disease.
...When I was a kid I wanted one because I thought they were a mix between a dog and a cat :-)
Country/Date of Origin: China/Han Dynasty/100 BC
It is widely accepted that hairless dogs are spontaneous genetic mutations. They have been reported all over the world but for some reason they are more often found in Central and South America. The Crested dogs are recorded in China two thousand years ago but it was in Central America that they were fostered, keeping the breed alive when it fell out of favor in its native land. The Chinese Crested is found in two varieties, hairless and powder puff, and both types can be found in the same litter. A breed club was formed in 1975 and the Chinese Cresteds were accepted for registration in the American Kennel Club in 1992.
I vote for red tree kangaroo with mange.
I think that I looked a little like that when I left my divorce court proceedings.
Reminds me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRqCdTrJkyE
Poster 1: Although I'm glad the thing is dead, did anyone else feel a sorry for the creature? She was trying to save her baby.
Poster 2: by eating people's heads? hell No!!!!!!
I’d guess a hyena relative.
Not a hyena, but a smaller variant of it...aka wolverine, mongoose, civet, etc.
Now them damn chupacabras are sneaking across the border into China! I thought they’d stop after crossing into Texas and Arizona.
I saw the movie with friends when it originally came out in theaters.
We all thought it very entertaining.
Looking at it now, the special effects seem so primitive.
But still fun to watch anyway.
