The Missouri confederate veteran’s home is about an hours’ drive from me. A few years back, my DDH and I went to see it. The building is intact and it’s been set up with furniture and personal possessions as if it’s still being used. IIRC, the last veteran lived out his life and died there some time in the 1920s-there’s a cemetery reserved for the veterans there too.
