Not to mention the increased inter-cranial pressure and stress on his heart from straining to go.
It’s actually an intelligent article, although about a subject that some people might like to make jokes about (and in the article, it says that this was part of the problem for Elvis not treating it properly, medically-speaking... because of not really wanting to talk about it).
The doctor says he would still be alive today if it had been treated the way they wanted to — that is, have an operation to take care of it...
Interesting...
Also, he says it’s a hereditary disease, too...
What were Elvis’ final words?
“Corn?”
What a load!
This has been known for decades. Why report it again. Elvis was a fine caring Christian man who gave much to charity without advertising it.
But if you abuse opiates then there are consequences........
I thought the doctor said it was a hereditary disease, too... and that if it had been treated with that operation that they wanted to do, Elvis would still be alive today ...
He seemed to indicate that it wasn't the drugs (what was prescribed to him) which were the problems ... [I'm just going by what the doctor says in the article]...
Back when the Elvis commemerative stamp came out the Cincinnati Enquirer had a contrest to design an Elvis stamp. My entry was a fat bloated Elvis sitting on the can with his white jump suit pants down around his ankles. Elvis was slumped over with crossed out eyes and open prescription bottles at his feet. The toiled had the TCB logo on it. The header read “Ladies and Gentlemen ELVIS has left the building!”
The Enquirer never ran my particular entry in print. But I did get a note from the editor telling me that my entry was so funny that it was posted prominently in the news room for all employees to enjoy.
I was proud of that moment.
exactly......
No,
“Stuck On Loo”
"gonna stick like glue...yeah, yeah....because they're...stuck on you"
What “medications” was he taking?
Morphine based painkillers will do that to you.
This has been known for decades. Why report it again.
Ummm... that's not what the article says ... :-)
First the article says this about what has been reported in the past ...
It has been widely reported that Elvis Presley died in 1977 from cardiac arrhythmia, an irregular heartbeat, possibly brought on by drug dependency, obesity and a weak heart.
Then the article continues and says this ...
But the music legend's longtime friend and physician, Dr. George Nick Nichopoulos, has put pen to paper for the first time and revealed his belief that it was chronic constipation that actually killed the King of Rock and Roll.
Now..., I don't keep up on all things about Elvis, but only what is reported in the regular news (not fan stuff or anything like that). So, this is the first time I've heard this on a regular news story. I would imagine that it's just as new for the majority of the public (aside for the rabid fans of Elvis, perhaps).
When did you hear this about his hereditary ailment or disease, before?
I thought that was already known. I had a doctor tell me once that constipation is the “kiss of death”. I swear. That’s the phrase he used. And he kept repeating it. “Kiss o’ death. Kiss ‘o death.”
“I hope I haven’t bored you.”
A little less constipation, a little more action please.
Wasnt there Rotor Rooter back then?
The doctor says it's better these days than it was back then ... :-)
