Interesting page on longevity of condiments. Click on each condiment to find out how long it's safe to consume.

I’ve had a jar in my fridge for 5 years!

It still tastes good and now you can see pretty lights too!

Mustard is only good for 2 months in the fridge. Hmmmm, is it the vinegar or the tumeric that goes bad?

Ketchup you can keep unopened a month in the pantry? Who knew???? I never keep stuff like that unopened out of the fridge.

What a bunch of pansies.

I've successfully exceeded most of their recommendations by a factor of twelve...

“How Long Can you Keep that Mayo?”

I either empty it or it goes opaque. If it goes opaque, I throw it out.

I did not know veggie oil should be stored in fridge

Sour cream doesn’t last any longer if you don’t open it, lol.

Jellies and James either, but thats up to a year. wow.

I’m sorry, 6 to 8 months for mustard (still a short time in my opinion), ketchup is 1 month unrefrigerated, longer in the fridge (I’ve had mine for quite a while, tastes fine).

It depends a lot on the temperature inside the refrigerator.

Jelly and Jams:
Unopened: 1 year
Opened: 1 year in the fridge. For best results, store your jam and jelly in the fridge, even before opening.

Open or unopened, it makes no difference?

Five days.

After cinco days, the mayo stinks...

Finish it before it goes bad.

If it smells ok, if it’s not weepy or moldy or strange looking I assume it’s ok. I’m still alive. So is my family. On the other hand, most things that don’t get put in the fridge overnight get tossed out. Not sure why, but for some reason, overnight seems dodgy to me.

I’ve had mustard that lasted longer than 2 months but I just pitched a jar I had in the fridge at the office for 4 months because it had turned.
