130 lb Hooters Waitress Told To Lose Weight Or Lose Job!

DETROIT - Hooters had just given waitress Cassie Smith a glowing 2 year review.
But her bosses and two women on a conference call from the company's headquarters in Atlanta changed their tune when it came to her uniform evaluation
“They were like, your shorts and your shirt size could use some improvement,” said Smith.
Cassie, who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 132 pounds claims she sat there while she was told if she wanted to keep her job she needed to drop some weight.
“These women proceeded to tell me I had 30 days, they would give me a free gym membership, and if I didn't improve in 30 days I would be separated from the company,” Smith said.
“I was horrified, I was heartbroken, I was humiliated,” she continued.
Cassie clearly doesn't have a problem squeezing into her skimpy uniform, an extra small tank top and shorts.
In fact she says when she started this job 2 years ago she weighed about 10 pounds more than she does now.
Questions to the restaurant’s general manager Rob Rice were deferred to Hooters’ corporate offices.
For Cassie the damage has already been done.
The 20 year-old feels like she's a victim of weight discrimination by a corporation with unrealistic expectations.
“I don't want other girls to go through this. I don't want anyone to have to go through this.”

120 pounds was considered good for a 5'4" frame when I went for an airline interview in the late 70s....and I thought restrictions were lifted since that era

BMI. It’s worthless measurement.
She’s paid to represent the brand, not to serve food, she is in essence a “model” and as such can be told things like lose weight or hit the road. The look of her body is why she was hired, not because she can speedily deliver chicken wings. I don’t think her claim is going anywhere.

5’8 and 130 is not plump! Good heavens we are trying to make everyone into stick figures. My daughter is 5’7 and 130 and a size 3. She dances 30+ hours per week and not an ounce of fat anywhere. Us plump ones resent it when skinny people are called plump. I guess that makes me morbidly obese! NOT
I’m not big on plump women...not bone skinny but like girls were when I grew up in the 60s and 70s when a size 8 then would be a 4 today
women today are at at least 15 pounds heavier on average and that means bigger boobs which is nice
my wife is 5/1 and 106...that’s about normal to me
only tall gal I had was 5/9 and 128...she was about right
but God bless ya...have fun with them..everyone needs someone

She has really small breasts, maybe that’s the real reason. She certainly is not fat.

Yes, and your daughter has muscle. I’m almost 300lbs at 9% body fat (you can see my abs).
This lady is “skinny fat” -— as in bone and fat, no muscle.
She needs to hit the gym or dance. No muffin top.
Weight is meaningless, bodyfat percentage means a lot.
I see a little bit of a tummy, but other than that she doesn’t look fat.
