...Apple requires application designers to adhere to a company policy that could be described as “pro-family”
THIS is the free market at work! Rather than cater to the lowest common denominator, Apple has chosen to deliberately exclude certain market segments it deems unworthy of its products. Just as the freedom of association innately requires a freedom to disassociate, so too does a free market necessitate that entities be allowed to refuse to do business with whom they choose.
If Steve Jobs keeps this up, my next phone, computer, and other technology purchases will almost certainly be Apple. And I say this as someone who has never purchased any Apple product before and was about to purchase a Droid phone next month. Apple may even be my next stock purchase.
This might dampen the enthusiasm for the ipad among the college set. Which has been the biggest driver of the companies business in the past
FTR, it’s freedom from Adobe Flash Player, not porn. iPhone users still look at porn, and so will iPad users.
Steve Jobs didn’t give a damn about porn before he had kids, and when he was trying to become a billionaire. Suddenly he’s conservative? Yet he supports the party that loves porn.
So stick with your PC or iMac.......

Just an observation, but look for everyone to praise Jobs’ decision to the skies, shouting that he’s a much-needed moral crusader; then look for these products to take a serious dip in sales.

I ain’t exactly an Apple evangelist (I do own a couple of iPods), but I am with Steve Jobs on this one. Porn is destructive to society, and he has the right to make his own product in a way that doesn’t support it.
Here I am agreeing with Steve Jobs. I guess he’s about as tired as I am of getting 20 emails each day with the subject line: “Add 3+ inches!” People who send that stuff have a special place in Hell reserved just for them.
Does the iPad support WiFi and Internet browsing? Then it supports porn.
