Ipad...no thanks. I have a great laptop, a Kindle and lots of saved money in my pocket. Apple likes to control and dictate. I like to build and pirate and create my own hardware.
Screw apple, I can do it for half the price, without looking smug.

Way to go Jobs. As he gets older he seems to be getting more conservative.

Apple is a company that slants its advertising towards women. Women don't like porn because they view it as competition for their man's attention. Guys either like porn or don't mind it.
So of course Jobs is going to placate and suck up to one his prime demographics. The ladies. In Steve's own little world I am sure sure he is not anti-porn. He's no righteous crusader. He's a money grubber selling mystique and over priced products to a mesmerized following. Same as Barrack Obama did to get elected. Just like Obama, Apple's prime demographics do not include normal heterosexual white guys. Apple aims its advertising at --
- gays
- urban hipster types (think goatees, latte coffees and artisanal food)
- students -- young skulls full of mush
- women ---->> meaning technophobes. Uncle Stevie is there to hold their hands
- perpetual students of post college age whose fragile egos need a good propping up. Stevie Jobs provides this.
- artistic types (You don't have to be employed as an artiste, you just have to think you are one)
- You will never see an Apple advertisement showing a farmer or rancher using an Apple ipad or Apple anything.
- How about an Apple advertisement showing a businessman using an Apple desktop or laptop?

Among the hoo-hah over Jobs' decision not to sell porn apps in the Apple App Store (don't worry, one-handed smartphone fiends, you can still get your jollies in your iPhone's browser), the following interesting tidbit from Jobs has been overlooked:
"...freedom from programs that steal your private data..."
Given the proven security of the iPhone/iPad hardware/OS/software/app-store architecture, with tens of millions of units in the field and zero viruses or security breaches versus a botnet of thousands of Android phones already demonstrated in the field, Jobs has a huge point here. Not only that, but Google's recurring disdain for users' privacy and its own gnawing appetite for more and more of your information represents a real threat.
It's rather amazing to me that most of you folks are so focused on Apple's decision not to sell porn apps in its store that you've overlooked this important aspect of your security. But I guess some of you are too busy hating (and wiping down your Windows porn-a-palooza machine in your mom's basement) to consider the remarkable emergence of the most secure personal computing environment available.
