HORN LAKE, Tenn.- Officials in a Tennessee town said they are working on a new ordinance to ban locals from wearing their pants low enough to reveal underwear or bare backsides.
Horn Lake Mayor Nat Baker and members of the board of aldermen said they have seen recent increases in men wearing their pants in the saggy fashion, leading them to seek a ban in the form of an ordinance, The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported Thursday.
"There have been ordinances like this upheld across the country, and in talking with the city attorney, I think we can draw up something that can be upheld in court," Baker said.
"They need to pull their pants back up to where they should be," Baker said. "It's getting out of hand."
Officials did not reveal possible penalties for violations of the ban.

Easy enough to help them fellas out. Just hitch up the pants and use the air stapler to ensure they don't fall down.

The UPI copy of this story is in error. Horn Lake (at least the Horn Lake referred to in this story) is in Mississippi.

1. Baggy pants makes it easier to catch hoodlums.
2. Tacky as baggy pants are, it’s not the goverment’s roll to tell people how to dress, absent health or obsenity issues.

Good. Put the dirtballs in for some hard labor. Get something from them useful for living on the dole.

I am not a fan of government being the fashion police. There is nothing in the constitution that says you cannot dress like an idiot. There is no nudity here. If they enforce this they will have to enforce every female wearing something skimpy, which would not be PC because females are a protected class and they can wear what they please.

Yah, it’s no place of government to get into.
What needs to happen is a whole lot more pointing and laughing. A little ridicule could go a long way.

You are correct. Nothing in the constitution. Leaving it up to the people and the cities and the states to decide. Outlaw these scumbags.

Outlawing it would be an attack on personal liberty, something a conservative should oppose. I think these guys look foolish and let them pay the consequences for it socially and be laughed at. You are advocating a big government solution (even if its a small town), we need less of that these days.

Cool. I like your thinking. You should be able to walk around town naked too. Those darn schools should allow kids to show up in their underwear only. G-strings and pole dancing in the playgrounds. Sounds fun.

I don't see any nudity here! You have the draw the line somewhere and I would with nudity of course. Can you see boxers here that they are wearing? Sure, but what is the difference between that and a girl walking the street in a bikini? Lets be fair and outlaw that too. You wouldn't see either in schools because there are dress codes there that the minors must adhere too, not adults that can make their own choices.

You sound like a liberaltarian.
