"I created this little slideshow video after I heard the narrated story of the Battle of Baltimore and Fort McHenry where Francis Scott Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner. I had to cut the last 20 seconds of the song because of YouTubes 10 minute max. Hope you enjoy it. God Bless America." AlaskaPatriot

As Flag Day is coming, I found this gem on YouTube.com. I had never really understood the signficance of our National Anthem until I watched this. It moved me, especially in light our current political climate, which I find so troubling.

Wonderful! I was just in Baltimore visiting my aunt who lives right near the inner harbor. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to visit Fort McHenry. Have to get over there next time!

It was 1971 and I was attending an Air Force Tech School. School started at 8:00AM and the we arrived at our classroom, got coffee donuts and sat and waited for our teacher.
The Captain sitting next had a nametag "KEY". I Introduced myself and then asked, "Any relation?" He said "Yes, He was my Great, Great, Great Grand Uncle!" I retorted, He sure wrote a grand song!

I felt quite moved by it, too. America is worth fighting for.
