LOL

Nah I think this is much more about his re-election than any stance.

As I said before.. Hatch is being allowed to vote no by Massa Obama.

Elections have consequences. McCain would have been better on picking a SC Justice, but too many people felt there was no difference between McCain and Obama.

I thought of McCain as a .22 to the leg and Obama as a .45 to the chest. I didn’t want either, but between the two I knew which I would prefer.

Those who said they would rather have Obama are now reaping what they have sown.

Obama is President, the Senate supports him, a liberal will be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Don’t like it? Then settle for a third of a loaf next time.

Agreed.

I think far too many people were “fooled” by this Obama.

Scary times we live in when that many people can get fooled....

I grew up in North Dakota, so didn't follow Lugar's career much. But what you say appears to be typical.

One thing about growing up in a small (population) state and being politically active is that you don't only get acquainted with your own politicians-- I met every governor-- but you also get acquainted with those from neighboring states.

For instance, I met Walter Mondale. Hopeless liberal, but one of the most congenial, nicest guys you'd ever meet. He had that self-depreciating, dry midwest sense of humor. Following his 49 state loss to Reagan, he got nominated for the fill-in when the incumbent lost his life in a plane crash days before the election. After his loss there, he remarked that he made history as the first Democrat to lose elections in all 50 states.

At the other end, you have Alan Simpson of Wyoming, very impressive conservative when he first came up. Solid, articulate and connected well to the college crowd, which I was when I first met him at a conservative student's gathering. He was also the guy who ended Gale McGee's career. Washington changed him, far worse than it did Orrin. The best thing I can say about him now is that he is not always a useful idiot for the left.

Your check for 10% of what I have earned from using that quote is in the mail. (That is, assuming you can demonstrate your copyright ownership).

I’ll go further.....6 years for Senators, 6 years for Congress.....basically, no one person should spend more than 10 percent of their life in public service.

I know. It was a general comment, aimed at the ether.

He’s not up for re-election until 2012 unfortunately, but must be thinking ahead as he sees the Tea Party tide growing.

If Grahamnesty votes to confirm, he should be removed from office by the voters in a recall, as should any Republican who does so.

I couldn't agree more. Now, if we just had a recall law here in SC, Lady Lindsey would have been gone already. And I suspect he knows that.
