It seems totally wrong and evil to you and I but every country in the world has a government that would do the same thing. How long would our prison term be here for acting as these folkes did?

“Along with a team of police personnel, the revenue officials rushed to the village and took possession of the coins”

That’s a lot of people to carry those coins. Hope no one ruptured a disk.

95 oz's? That's interesting. I just recalculated and got 10.497 oz's.

744 coins X 400 milligrams per coin = 297,600 milligrams. In my convert program that translates to 10.497 oz's avd.

I don't know how I came up with 6.64 oz's before.

“Yes, tax official. There were 7440....I mean, 744 gold coins that we found.” At least I hope they did that. ;)

I wouldn't call the coins "ancient." The Urdu language came into being during the time of the late European Middle Ages, when Muslim rulers were establishing themselves in India.

The coins look to be in excellent condition.

It was a nice gesture on the family’s part to share with their neighbors.

Well, it’s a guarantee that no more rare valuable artifact finds will ever again be reported.

Was there a rainbow above it?
