“Theres not a night goes by that coyotes dont enter my yard hoping to get one of the feral cats I keep to control snakes. Its interesting to see how little fear they have of humans these days. They do fear the sound of a firearm discgarging, though.”<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
When I lived in southern California, we would often have coyotes come right up. Some would even act injured to get food. They are very clever, and they certainly don’t view us humans as higher up (but they do run if you bend down to pick something up off the ground)!
I know Pits can be very dangerous if not raised right. Being an owner of one she is the best dog ever. Loves everyone Pits are extreme protectors at the homefront. I live in an area where coyotes roam plenty, its a comfort having her.
I hear you. Any dog can be dangerous if raised incorrectly.
Thanks for the articles showing the good side of Pitbulls today with this one and the one that saved the owners from the house fire. A few folks on FR would rather just focus and post the negative about Pit Bulls and not look at the breed as a whole.
Put Karelian Bear dogs, Irish wolfhounds, and pitbulls together in a group and their perceived problems will be each other.
The only damage I ever took from a dog was from a Toy Manchester that chewed up my hand pretty good.

The only dog that ever tried to bite me was a long-haired chihuahua. What a nasty creature, who sadly was encouraged to be aggressive through bad training by a clueless owner.
As of the last century they were one of the most popular family dogs, too. Many of the dogs I remember seeing in old pics and thinking of as “mutts” were often Pits.

Go figure, a coyote preying on a mexican.........Who woulda thought.
Currently, my dog is growling and barking, because she is protecting us from the sound of construction on the main road.

Thanks for the ping!
What a neat story! Thanks for the ping.
If you’re interested, here’s a link to some pictures of early American pitbulls and their owners.

At one time, they were the quintessential American dog.
Are you the owner of that site? I noticed it happened to belong to a breeder, just curious.
