I remember when I was in college and grad school they sent me a letter every semester requesting my vaccination history and every time I threw it in the trash. My family doc retired in his nineties when I was about 20 and my medical records vanished. They were real files filled with hand written paper notes...not electronic files. I was never not allowed to enroll and pay tuition.
I’ve always wondered if my doc intentionally destroyed his files to keep the “system” from digitizing them. He was my parent’s doc, my grandparents doc, and my great grandparents doc. he delivered me. He was very old fashioned.
It may depend on where you went to college. For public schools vaccs used to be required. I don’t recall having to produce shot records when I went back to college in my late 20s, but it may just be that I had to and I don’t remember. I do recall my sons having to get me to round them up when they went to school.
