Meteor - Sept. 4
Vanity | me

Posted on 09/04/2010 7:17:04 AM PDT by Western Phil

During my morning run at 5:56 am Central Daylight Time, I witnessed the brightest meteor that I have ever seen. It was early dawn and still relatively dark. It passed to the north of Mahomet, Illinois (near Champaign) from the east, heading west. It lasted for a while and if I had been alert enough, I might have had enough time to get the camera out which I carry & get a picture. However, that didn't happen & it takes the thing a while to boot up anyway. There was some green during part of of the meteor's flight, so I wonder I wonder if it may have been a returning man made space object with electronics.

Thanks Western Phil. Green meteor trail. Makes me wish I'd made a green one of these logo images:

Green means the meteor was copper laden.

Blue is trippy, thats cobalt

Starting in 2011, yes I know we all have to suffer, I am initiating (that's a big word, even for a telepromptr) a federal tax on Earth. This supercedes previous attempts to corral you monkeys, but I digress (scratches).

Nah, it was just the Dems' chances in November.

Anyone who IMHO get up for a morning jog at 6am deserves a gift of a visual in the sky.

(I am a high energy at 9pm kinda person for the record)

Did you hear it crackle or make a sonic boom?

If you had your camera ready, then you never would have seen anything. It’s a standard rule of photography.

I don’t think you saw a meteor. That was just “hope & change” flaming out.

No sound where I was. Its path was probably never higher than 35 degrees, so I figure it was probably to far away to hear.
