Might be time to upgrade from that old black and white you have... because the channel looks great on my 65 inch HD TV.
LOL, somehow a one-point lead is not very comforting...on the road no less.
Yeah, Fox News did something like that on Comcast a few months ago. My large TV is a regular 4/3 32 inch Toshiba, so it basically threw away the top and bottom of the screen and made everybody fat.
I s-canned Comcast, and now have dish. I can select the HD or regular version of all channels, and have the versatality to alter the picture so that it fits. Problem solved.

I will be so glad when broadcast TV finally fades away And I can have my programming On Demand and pay for only the things I wish to watch!
Not mine, but it IS a restored Dumont. The owner writes about it here.

You could drive south, catch SeeBS and watch the Titans beat the dogsnot out of the Raiders! :^)
Up yours.
I guess anything that doesn't affect Your Highness is "inane." (Maybe you should be posting on SpanishRepublic, because it's pretty clear you don't have a clear understanding of English.) That you exult in the discomfort of a fellow FReeper is either disgusting or suspicious.

I AM south, and I could watch that game. But I don't care much for the oilers.....er, I mean Titans. :-)
Heh.. Yea and I used to watch the Chicago Cardinals.....
Well, HD IS so much better, and you SHOULD throw out (or at least, relegate to a secondary room) your 32" 4:3 tube TV (if you can afford to).
I replaced my perfectly good 32" Sony Trinitron (circa 1998) with a 50" Samsung 8500 Series full LED backlit LCD TV in December, and my enormous (and heavy, as in 143 lbs. heavy) Sony is now sitting in a closet.
The HD picture is vastly superior.
I realize that not everyone has the means for the HD TV or surround stereo system, or maybe the availability of HD service, but it is really superior. And with "3D" TV's becoming the new craze, the standard LCD TV's are becoming more affordable all the time.
May as well face it - LCD TV's and hi-def service are becoming the standard, and sooner or later you will be ditching the old-school tube TV, whether it still works or not.
I’m watching on a conventional TV with Time Warners Digital DVR. I can’t sense and difference.
Fascinating. I'd like to have two - one restored, and one re-done with modern electronics. I like this old stuff!
Thanks for the clarification, this game is so bad I thought it was my TV too..........Now how am I going to explain my email complaint to tech support at Pioneer?
Guess I'll just have to admit that I was watching a Lions game......
Not now......at least it's not my TV
Can you use an extra rotary phone in your house? I’ve got one sitting my basement I can send you........
Well...it’s in the hands of the officials right now...how in the hell is that not a TD?
Everyone can keep telling me that. I think it's a little bit better. My son has a big HD set up in his room, so it's not like I couldn't watch up there. I just find my den more comfortable.
Now, of course, if they going to make me watch 20 FPS and 100 lines/frame on my TV then "vastly superior" is certainly correct.
I've been watching pro-football on TV since the mid 50s (Chris Shenkel and Johnny Lujack) and today was the first time I was unable to follow place-kicks. The ball just disappeared when kicked.
Thanks to all of you who find some perverse pleasure in this.

Just this last Friday the Best Buy Geek Squad van arrived with my brand-new Sony 46" LED. They carted away my perfectly working 36" Sony Trinitron monstrosity (it weighed closer to 200 lbs).
I thought about selling it but you can't even give those things away. I could've put a fifty dollar price tag on it but it wasn't worth having a bunch of strangers off of craigslist come over and case my apartment, "Hmm... That Gibson Les Paul looks real nice! I think I'll stop by later when you're gone!"
Yeah, HDTV is awesome! Now my only complaint is that there aren't more HD channels! Next Friday I'm going to get the new 320GB PS3 to use as a media server.
