I think he will get in. Eventually. If he should is another matter. And of course the best closer ever will and should get in.

A-Rod is A-Cheater.
The best ever. The pitching puts a fork in it, in my opinion.

LOL
I saw ARod hit a LINE DRIVE, no more than 30ft off the ground over dead center field at 425ft. It hit the berm on the other side and bounded ANOTHER 100ft in the air.
Hardest shot I ever saw by anybody. The crowd was stunned.
I knew then and there he was Hall of Fame bound.
... against a last place team .. uhh no
Yanks are the best too.
“Just what I would want....my daughters taking pictures of mens crotches at baseball games....wow....tough to live with that knowledge.”
Who took pics of crotches?
How old do you think my daughters are?
Grow up!
You forgot the salaries:
Albert Pujols $14,595,953
Alex Rodriguez $33,000,000
Yeah, I will take Albert all day long too....
“Yanks are the best too.”
Love ‘em!
“An A-BOMB from A-Rod” ... love ya John Sterling.
You are correct Sir! I just rummaged through my files and found the following - “ . . . Negro League luminary Buck O’Neil recalled the time that Ruth faced the legendary Satchel Paige sometime around 1938 in Chicago. Ruth was about forty-three at the time and had already retired. Nonetheless, he launched a tremendous home run to center field in his first at-bat that left Paige speechless for perhaps the first time in his life. . . . The fact is that the Bambino had a rich and vibrant history of competition against the best black players of his era. He played often against Negro League All-Stars across the United States and Cuba (1920) in fall barnstorming tours. In those games Ruth far exceeded his Major League statistics in batting average, and home run percentage. . . . Babe Ruth is known to have batted fifty-five times against the top black pitchers of his era. In those at-bats, he connected for twenty-five base hits and blasted twelve home runs. That works out to a batting average of over .400 and a slugging average of over 1.000.” These facts are from Bill Jenkinson’s great book, The Year Babe Ruth Hit 104 Home Runs. According to Jenkinson, there is no rational explanation for Babe Ruth. Just so. And the power! Jenkinson has Ruth hitting the five longest home runs in Major League history. One was an opposite field home run at Fenway that landed on that parking garage that’s still there. He was also the first guy to clear the double decker roof in Chicago. And believe it or no, his very last home run cleared the roof at Forbes Field It was his last hit (forty years of age), a 500 footer. And the guy also hit a fungo 447 feet! Long live the memory of the The Prince of Pounders.
They would be calling him “the freak” today. Yeah, it was a differnt game, but nobody did what he did, or even close to it. All you have to say is “he pitched too” and all the comparisons to other great players don’t stand up to well in my opinion.

Or even “TOO” well.
A-Rod has morphed into a bigtime clutch hitter.
Girardi goes to the Cubs next year.
Jeter becomes player-manager of the Yankees.
A-Roid drinks wine coolers ; )
Interesting ideas. Can you see Tex being the new Captain? I can, but I don't know if he's been around long enough.
A-Rod has morphed into a bigtime clutch hitter.
He's a solid 3rd baseman, as well, notable exceptions considered.
What has impressed me about him is his sheer mental toughness. I wrote him off as a "head case" a long time ago. And he was. But he got through it, and proved himself to be a professional.
Remember the beginning of last season, I don't think the Yanks were at .500, all lost in a slump, and he comes back from surgery. The papers are all slamming him because of the leaked list, Madonna, and who knows what else. He walks into the batter's box and pumps his first at-bat out of the park. Screw what everybody says, I'm here to hit a home run. And off they went. His influence is unmistakeable.
Cordially,
McCluer North back in 84. How about you ?
