FoxNews Coverage of Chilean Miners Rescue, Too Much?
Vanity | Oct. 12, 2010 | Me

Posted on 10/12/2010 9:49:09 PM PDT by PROCON

I sympathize with the families of the Chilean miners who are currently being rescued, but I can't remember a Media event so covered since I was a 12 year old kid during the JFK assasination coverage.

Why is this event so covered?

Good job. What a sharp contrast to people who don’t care just because the miners aren’t Americans.

You need a DVR or TIVO, like me!..:=)

I wouldn't have time watch. Besides, it would be one more thing I'd have to learn to operate. I can't get any more operational information in my brain. Things are getting tooooo complicated. I'm thinking of becoming Amish.

This non-USA politics coverage actually might attract some new viewers who could be educated before the election if they tune in again and hear more fair/balanced political coverage than say ABC, CNN, and my personal fav, MSNBC....

The “All-Star Panel” is the same every night: Charles Krathammer, a liberal (Juan Williams if he's available) and a neocon from the Weekly Standard. Nothing to miss really.

Like I said, I have an online political family elsewhere.

They have your tea and crumpets waiting for you. Don't keep them waiting.

It’s only his 517th anti cable TV post today.

Well, it's good to hear that he's cutting back! ;-)

ABC News Now Pictures, Images and Photos

It definitely went over the top when ABC News Nightline compared it to Apollo 13.

It is too much but as long as they show Glenn Beck at 2:00 AM I don’t care. I can’t believe they have this doctor gassing on and on about the condition of people he hasn’t even seen. I can’t get my doctors to say that much after a full battery of tests.

As much we are all into politics around here, you have to notice that there are some that are so consumed that it is actually sort of sad. I had an exchange with a retired guy here the other day that admitted to watching Fox news and surfing political sites from 5:00 am to midnight every day. That's not a full life. If missing the all star panel is really something that seriously disturbs you, your priorities in life are way beyond screwed up.

when there's American politics to worry about.

Politics is only a means to an end. I don't embrace it more than this Chilean debacle. These bills our Congress has passed and Obama has signed will kill more people that this mine in Chile ever did. Much more. Besides, I'm hearing crap that there were things going on down in that mine that go against the 'triumph of humanity' that is being gleefully portrayed.

Leave it to FR to be a huge buzzkill. Why revel in the ingenuity of mankind and his spirit of charity when you can come here and hear someone be a whiny biatch because he couldn’t get the rerun of the “Great American Panel”? Better yet, we can get the 10^13th lecture from Frantzie about how we are all stupid TV watching ‘murrican fools financing the House of Saud.

TV is garbage.

You're starting to be pretty obsessive about that message. Seems to be all you post any more.

You forgot the sarcasm tag.

Perhaps you want a drumroll, instead? It wasn't a punchline. A few people here are truly sincere in their concern for the sheer humanity of the situation, I'm sure. Everyone else is just going a long with it because they don't want to get flamed like I am. I just said what they're thinking. That's all.

Yea I mean what would anyone really rather watch? Live news and history/miracle in the making or watch Hanity, O’Rielly, and Gretta re-runs? Maybe we can get Charlie, Juan, and whoever to come on at midnight and pretend it's 6:00Pm. For once in several years now Fox News is not the same old boring nightly talking head shows and I'm actually watching it because this is real news coverage. Imagine that.
