For the first couple of years of the show it was the high-water mark of American Television. The American TV shows line-up would get no better following it, and would take a fast and deep slide into crap. There were some other individual shows that would pop up from time to time that were good like, Friends, Home Improvement, Sinfield, Cheers, but with the advent of multiple channels of cable and satellite, the magic of well written family TV shows was gone forever. Rest in Peace Mr. C
