“you really have to just keep yourself busy to stay away from the feelings of need to drink”

Most recovering alcoholics are sober because of their commitment to working the 12 Steps of AA. The first word of the first step is “We”. It’s a fellowship that has saved the lives of countless millions.
Apparently Dubya did it on his own. All the more power to him but that’s not how most of us saved our lives.

Bush is a clown. He nearly destroyed the party, and we are beginning to build it back up. Why can’t he leave us alone?
Either he is tone deaf or wants to hurt the party.

This will help motivate dispirited Democrats.

Bush isn’t running for anything. Who cares?

The Republican party is already tremendously unpopular - even among Republicans. Part of the reason is how the GOP conducted itself during the 8 years of Bush's presidency. The GOP has been trying to repair that damage for 2 years now. Anytime Bush worms his way into the spotlight it reminds people of just how much they came to dislike Bush and the Republican Party. There is a reason Bush can literally campaign nowhere - not for any Republicans at all. Think about that, he is so unpopular he can't make ANY campaign stops for fear of being in the news and reminding votes how much they dislike him and almost anything associated with him.

Bush needs to stay in a bunker somewhere till we can recover from all the damage his did to the Republican brand.

Wow...FReepers are really over reacting to this. BDS has gone viral. Not gonna affect Tuesday at all...how many have lamented, with billboards and blogs, ‘miss me yet?’

Non starter.

It is too late now for a proper October Surprise and they are traditional in Presidential election years, not so much in midterms, not generally, anyhow. Some individual candidates here and there get hit with things that have been saved up for October but there is usually no Big Surprise that affects the whole range of the midterms.

It will be something like this:
positive influence 15%
negative influence 10%
no influence 75%

Good point. NOBODY wants Bush to campaign for them. That tells it all. Compare that to Clinton who is coveted on the campaign trail.

We just lost 5-10 House seats with this moron putting his name back in the news. Bush only energizes MSNBC/Democrat voters.

Thanks for pumping up Democrats Bush!

Well said!

If the 'rats think more Bush bashing is going to help them I just don't know what to say. People want to be reassured that they have a future that doesn't involve soup kitchens and a cardboard box under the overpass. That is what this election is about. Hyperpartisanship hurts not helps the Democrats.

If this is the "October Suprise" then lamest October surprise ever!

Sit down. Calm down. Breathe in and out. You have no evidence for your conclusions. Until the hysteria abates, promise yourself you will stay away from scissors.

Is this is the October Surprise? That it is STILL all Bush’s Fault?

Really?!

Pretty pathetic actually.

Agree. Ridiculous hysteria here. If anything, as some of the Wikileaks stuff is showing, BUSH IS BEING VINDICATED on Iraq.
