I have just seen Boehner pronouncement about November 2nd.
I must recognize, while this guy is a simpathetic fellow, I did not thrust him well, I mean, too much over squared bounds and PC.
But I saw this man almost tear-drop over there. This is not weakness, this is PROUD TO BE THERE and be finally able to do something over this situation.
I do think you Americans may count on him for the next two years to push hard over democrats. Furthermore, he will now be backed by conservatives like himself.
Yup, there is no hope at all, the best we can do is eat our pistols and end the misery, all is lost forever and ever. Jim was right, this is the end.

Not too big a fan of Boehner, but he does have a certain advantage. The media is going to do the most they can to demonize him as a big, spooky bogeyman (a la Gingrich or Delay), yet there’s something so quirkily easy-going about him, they might very well not succeed.

I think he’s great. Anyone who’s critical of his tears should try being Obama’s whipping boy for two years, should experience the futility and frustration of trying to have a say, then should see the tables finally turn.
Because true trust and respect are EARNED, not GIVEN. I sincerely hope if Boehner is elected to be the next Speaker he earns my trust and respect through Conservative leadership, but after following politics closely for more than 30 years I certainly don't expect him to be anything but just another politician. He wanted the job. Now, it's time to put up or shut up.

FWIW, I don’t trust him. He didn’t get his job by being honest and forthright. I don’t recall a single instance of him “ringing the alarm” over the scope of federal reach. In other words, instead of “it’s none of the feds business,” he seems to be of a mind of delivering a smaller sting than his political opponent.
Best advice is to listen to Reagan... trust but verify. I do not trust him... but the repubics will elect him and we have to hold his feet to the fire... but I predict he will cave and pass parts of obama’s agenda. I PRAY that I am wrong.

Who ever is the leader will end up being a spear catcher. I don’t see how Boehner will not be good at being able to deflect and not let the WH destroy the house members like Clinton did. Why ruin a Bachmann, Ryan or Pence here?
Boehner was part of the problem. He is part of the problem. He will continue to be part of the problem. There is simply no way he will part of the solution. And that little bit of psychodrama last night not only will not make it so, it is part of the proof that he simply will not be part of the solution.
We need somebody else, and not this sad sack.
That's how participatory government is supposed to work.
I’m willing to give Boehner a chance, considering what he has had to work with and against up until now. But I will not cut cut him slack if he proves to be just another establishment Republican.
Who we need to think about purging is Steele, Rove and all their ilk. Rove did irreparable damage in Delaware while Steele crowed about firing Nancy and basically went on to say he was happy with what ever gains we can make. I say go for total victory. Meanwhile Stu Spencer, Repub campaigner, is spouting off to that the Tea Party cost us the Senate, never mind the gains we made. With friends like these Boehner is the least of our problems.
There should be consequences for “compassionate conservatives” who screwed America. Why should we trust him?

The fact of the matter is that Boehner is not as insane as Pelosi. One can can’t hope for better than that.
The country is still doomed and there is no possibility of things turning around. Ever.

Exactly.He is the older of 12 kids who grew up living over the bar his grandfather owned.He knows all about hard work and struggle.He put himself through college working and going to school when he could afford it. the first one in his family to go.I read that it took him something like 6 years because of the money issue.I like him and want to see someone like him in the speakership.Those of you naysayers are crazy.
