Former "Partridge Family" heartthrob David Cassidy has been charged with driving under the influence in Florida.
The Florida Highway Patrol says his car was stopped around 6 p.m. Wednesday for weaving and nearly causing an accident.
Cassidy told a trooper that he had a glass of wine at lunch and a hydrocodone pill at 3:30 p.m. Troopers reported finding a half-empty bottle of bourbon in the back seat....
His spokeswoman, Jo-Ann Geffen, told TMZ he admits taking a pain pill and being tired from attending a funeral, but insists he was not drunk.

I always bought a Tiger Beat magazine and after my parents died I found a poster in the attic that was mine. It had the Osmond brothers on one side and the Jackson 5 on the other. I gave it to my pre-teen son who was a big Michael Jackson fan and told him to see what Michael looked like when he was his age.
That boy looked at me like I was off my rocker and said in that condescending tone of pre-teens “Mother, Michael Jackson’s not black!”
TMZ: “David’s rep, Jo-Ann Geffen, tells TMZ ... the former teen idol admits he did take a pain pill for his back earlier in the day — and may have been tired from an early morning funeral he had to attend — but he definitely wasn’t drunk. Cassidy is also disputing the results of the two breathalyzer tests he took at the time of arrest — in which he blew a 0.139 and 0.141 — insisting his true blood alcohol content was not properly measured.
Cassidy’s rep tells us the actor is already on the hunt for a lawyer and plans to fight the charges adding, “He would never jeopardize anyone on the road and he would not have been driving had he not had to go to a funeral ... he’s never been arrested in his life before for anything.”

Same here. I’d heard he was an EMT, but just discovered he’s also been a sheriff and is now with the LAPD training cadets in CPR and first aid. One of the few who traded in celebrity for service.
