Harlem's most famous tenant has renewed his lease at a savings to the U.S. taxpayer.

Former President Bill Clinton, who caught some by surprise when he chose the 14-story building at 55 W. 125th St. for his offices after leaving the White House, has signed up for another 10 years. The lease for the 8,715 square feet on the building's top floor was negotiated by the U.S. General Services Administration.

What a guy.

I wonder if he’d make the same choice without the security of the Secret Service

Then there are the rest of us, who recall that his first choice was an exorbitant suite of offices costing the taxpayers a large fortune, but whioch the negative publicity shamed him out of it.

Billyboy was born a schmuck, he is a schmuck now, and he will die a schmuck.

You know why those guys both have their hands in their own pockets? No taxpayers around.

And what's up with that, BTW.... Even the USAF teaches young airmen to keep their hands out of their pockets (AF gloves jokes notwithstanding).

Slouchers.

I did not know this:

"Taxpayers foot the bill for the offices, as all former presidents are provided "suitable" office space under the Former Presidents Act of 1958."

I'm not happy.

Does this mean when the Dancing Obamas are no longer in the white hut, we'll be paying their rent? forever?

Yes. We're screwed. Do you really want to know the details of how badly? Or should it just change, and put politicians on a diet?

Nobody ever mentions that his first choice was crazy expensive office space in Manhattan and their was such a public outrage and uproar that he shifted to Harlem to cover his tracks.
