Can anyone help with A=2-log %T ??

Was wondering if there are any chemistry whizzes here who can help me with a problem in a lab I am working on?

We were given a list of %T values and told to use A=2-log %T to get the absorbency (A). I'm struggling with this. Can someone take me step by step through one? Say 25%?

Just thinkin’ issues like this probably don’t come up to often over at DU.

That's because math and science are imperialist-patriarchal hegemonist constructs.

Also, when such questions do come up, they tend to look more like this:

HELP, skul beginns in 2 mins and i didnt have enuf time to copy an anser 4 the last problm, i am pasting it hear, HELP ME!!!!11

Following the illustrious example of our First Lady <3 <3 <3 ~*~ Michelle ~*~ Obama ~*~ <3 <3 <3, Muhammad, Fidel, and Nancy have planted a garden. They are selling their sustainable organic shade-grown tomatoes at the Diversity Fair to buy pencils for kindergarteners, as evil Republicans have cut the education budget once again.

1. How do their selfless actions make you feel? How do Republicans make you feel?

2. When there are just three tomatoes left, George and Sarah show up and each want two. Both of them are afflicted with unconscious white privilege. What should Fidel do?

3. At the end of the day, Muhammad, Fidel, and Nancy have $24.95. A box of pencils costs $4.99, and each box contains 50 pencils. How many pencils could they buy if Republicans funded the schools as they should?

4. Harry and Joe take their tomatoes and use them in a vegan omelet. Harry is a senior citizen, and Joe is on disability because he is intellectually challenged. How should they divide the omelet equitably?

5. On his way to protest school funding, Fidel takes the 9:30 train, which is moving at 50 kph north from Plaza Hugo Chávez to Al Gore Square. On her way to raise funds for exploited immigrant workers, Nancy takes the 9:36 train traveling in the opposite direction at 60 kph. The two stations are 10 kilometers apart. Write a letter to Congress about how good it makes you feel that they can use public transportation and not rely on selfish, dangerous, gaz-guzzling SUVs.

Yeah, it's probably more "Help, I've got a pipecleaner stuck in my bong" kind of stuff over there.

I so understand. It makes you wonder why no one ever told us not to mix the two.
It gives new meaning to knowledge makes a bloody entrance.

Gasping for air.

Looks like I could open a breakfast stand here and make a little folding cash, if 'here' had a 'here' to it, and wasn't on the internet.

The secret to poached eggs is LOTS of water (6" full sized pan full of water is good), salt, and a dash of vinegar.

And of course, the technical, and redacted explanation of how to break and cook the egg.

Life is great, ain't it?

Ducking, running and hiding.

It's people like you that make me think that I can keep going. You want a meal. I want money.

Technical skills are a wonderful thing.

Why can I sell Eggs Benedict easier than I can sell WIFI last mile? I'm actually more competent at the WIFI stuff.

I do make a really good Bearnaise sauce, though....

Chem tip of the day: Never mix ammonia with bleach...produces lung searing gasses that can off you.

Early in my grad school career, I was growing yeast in nitrogen-based synthetic medium. It's standard practice to bleach anything that has been used to grow microorganisms, so there I was, pouring bleach into my yeast cultures.

I got a pretty nasty headache (like someone was driving an awl through my eye), but I never again forgot that nitrogen salts are ammonium salts!

And never mix glycerin and potassium permanganate unless you are intended to start a fire.

Thank goodness I chose the much easier profession of landing 20,000 pound jets aboard an aircraft carrier at night.

No math required.

Heck, that ain't hard at all. Jest park de aircraft carrier next to a pier every night, and get a very tall crane.
