You lost an 11 year old child - people should be able to relate to that in some way or form.

Thanks. I really appreciate your kindness. It’s great to have a kindred spirit. Years ago, when Baron was still a young pup, I ran into a friend of mine who is Baltimore’s most popular radio talk show host (Ron Smith, a great conservative). I mentioned I had a Dobie, and he said, “I had one. Loved him with all of my heart. They have such intelligent eyes, it’s as if they can understand every word you say.”

That thing is 15 or 20 years old. I don’t know if it’s real or not, but it’s damn sure funny!

“I sometimes used to reach over in the middle of the night just to hug him to my side because, though he wasn’t sick in the slightest, I sensed that one day soon, I would no longer have that sheer joy.”

Along a similar sentiment I made a point to pay attention to my youngest son as he was growing out of infancy and I rocked him to sleep at night with a bottle knowing that the day was coming when that would be a thing of the past. It’s a great memory.

I’m here, still alive and well.

That’s what happens with animals that ain’t from here.

As the doe came stumbling out of the woods she said, “That’s the last time I do that for two bucks.”
