Global warming has slowed down over the past 10 years, say scientists

"We're they able to predict that it would slow down? If not their model must be faulty."

The global warming true believers (oops, I meant to say "scientists") would simply dodge that question by arguing that the warming trend is real, but is being obscured by other factors, such as the aforementioned industrialization. My response to that would be that it then appears that their climate models were designed to model climate on some hypothetical planet that doesn't exist. The real world is chock full of mitigating factors that can't simply be shrugged off, yet they do so anyway because it doesn't fit the approved narrative.

You seem to equate a few hundred - or even thousand - nutters with millions of *real* scientists. Unless you live in an earth hole in the middle of some wilderness and dress in ferns, just about anything you see around you today is the result of a couple of centuries of science evolving to what it is today.

But go ahead and hate scientists all you want. How about you just go without *anything* running on electricity (nope, can’t start your car either - a battery does that) for a few weeks, ok?

Oh, wait - are you one of those stuck-in-the-seventh-century muslims? That would go a long way explaining your posts...

A scientist is someone who made it possible for you to have a personal computer to post a message on the internet, someone who made it possible for you to heat your home in the winter and cool it in the summer, and someone who made it possible for you to drive a car to the nearest fast food outlet when you're hungry, moron.

You need to understand that 'Global Warming' is about a lot of things (politics, control, rationing) but it sure as hell has nothing to do with science.

Oh, no argument there - I fully understand that those people are crooks, not scientists.

But those few do not justify a blanket condemnation of all scientists, which was my point.

Scientists say one of the major factors is the rise in heavy industry and pollutant 'aerosols', particularly in Asia.

Paving the way to exempt China from pollution controls. Just more "redistribution".

American/Western polution baaaad; Chinese pollution good!

Yes, AGW is only half as prevalent as it was two decades ago. Paradoxically, it’s also TWICE as prevalent.

That all sounds like stuff engineers have done. A scientiest, OTOH, would discover the basic principle behind one of those advances, scribble it on a Post-it note, and it would end up in the trash, leaving it to the cleaning crew to take it to an engineer! ;-)

It would appear that Algore’s hockey stick is going limp.

That would explain Tipper skipping out. We may have to start calling her "Skipper".

Exactly. They think they’re allowed to choose which of man’s actions they’re allowed to model (as if they were smart enough to model the effect of ANY of them).

Well, I think lab books are not exactly Post-it notes, but I get your point. The caricature of the mad, distracted scientist and all that. Too bad it’s not based in reality.

You’ve got it backwards, though. Basic research usually precedes engineering applications - think “transistor.” Or do you think solid state physicists went scrambling to figure out just what makes those computer thingies tick that mere engineers assembled? ;-) (BTW, I consider engineering part of the science fold - and basic research, applied sciences, and engineering enjoy generous areas of overlap.)

Anyway, none of this excuses the misdeeds of Dr. Mann and the rest of the climate cabal. All these crooks need to be removed from whatever positions they hold. As well as all the politicos that use these shams for their own devices.

You're sort of repeating my statement in the form of a refutation.

(BTW, I consider engineering part of the science fold - and basic research, applied sciences, and engineering enjoy generous areas of overlap.)

True enough.
