Obamas to eat steak for Christmas dinner

President Obama and his family will forego the traditional American Christmas entrees of turkey or ham this Saturday, and instead feast on some juicy steaks.

The White House announced on Friday that the Obamas' Christmas dinner in Hawaii will consist of steak, roast potatoes, and green beans, and for dessert, pies.

The menu sounds nearly the same as it did last year, when the family had roast beef with "traditional" sides on Christmas Day.

As for gifts, last year the White House revealed that the president and first lady decided not to exchange gifts with each other, setting what may become a precedent for this Christmas. Instead, they exchanged gifts with daughters Sasha and Malia (shown here in Hawaii last January), and with Obama's sister's family.

In a recent interview, Obama revealed that his daughters have requested "gift cards" and "cash" from Santa this year.

My wife and I are having a rib roast. Love prime rib. (Of course it helped she won a $25.00 gift certificate at Albertsons for a recipe contest) Besides, it's too close after Thanksgiving for turkey and we didn't feel like ham.

Well, I see nothing wrong with changing the Christmas menu now and then but Bozo seems to make a habit of it. Personally I am eating at my Daughter’s house this year and she is having steaks, BBQed on the grill after marinading all night. So can’t say to much. However, she does love ham, and so do I.

That’s what we’re having too ... steak from a cow I raised and butchered, roasted potato wedges with garlic/rosemary seasoning, shrimp and ravioli in a lemon butter sauce, and broccoli (because it’s the only veggie the kiddies like). I’m also making chicken cordon bleu.

For earlier in the day - brunch - we’re having Scotch eggs and just-picked baked grapefruit with a cherry in the middle.

And I just found out some neighbors will be joining us for dinner so I pulled out more steak, stuffed cabbage and stuffed peppers that I made a while back and froze. It’s better to have more food than not enough.

Two thoughts. I'm convinced Obama is trying to get sick of eating Wagyu beef while he's not paying for it. Also, can we expect a jive turkey to eat turkey?
