One of my New Year's resolutions is to build my own AR-15, and I came across this treasure trove of information. I wanted to post it here for you all as well, and to get feedback if you think there are better options out there (please let me know why). There are PLENTY of pictures at the link!
Happy New Year!

I’ve never owned an AR, but would like to get one. I did carry an M16 back in the 60’s, early 70’s. I’m in CA so we’re also pretty restricted as to what we can have here.

I think Gov’t Profile is reasonable - but there’s no need to go heavier, IMO.

Happy New Year to ALL,
as for the AR-15
I have looked into the semi auto history and mechanical issues of many semi auto’s and made my choice, this was not to go with the AR platform. I shall not mention my choice but suffice to say I am happy we still have a choice, not only as to what we buy, but being able to buy and own it in the first place.
Regards
EL

I would love to get me a Mosin-Nagant. Is there anyplace from where you’ve had luck buying?

You can PM me if you’d like...I love guns in general and don’t fight over them. ;)

Go to a gun show. There are always a few. Sometimes Gander Mountain has them at a decent price (for retail).

As long as it's .308, it's serious. Otherwise, it's just fun.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Outstanding thread!!!!
I totally LOVE my AR. They are the sweetest shooting rifles ever made. A real pleasure to shoot.

Good Luck, go to Gun Dealer. Com.Oh yes. M44, M38, 91-30; several of each. Can't beat them for the price and until the past few years ammo was dirt cheap. Sealed containers with 400-500 rounds at $100 or less. Thankfully I always bought extra :-)
