This guy gives his forklift too much pedal as he's backing up and runs into a storage shelf.
The next thing you know the whole wharehouse is wiped out.

It was an Absolut Vodka WAREHOUSE.
Tragic indeed.
And yes, the forklift driver was drunk.

That;s what happens when you have THIRD WORLD workplace safety and building code standards.

With that much weight on the shelves, they should have been tied horizontally and vertically to the building structure.

So this company could not invest in better shelving for their product? Or maybe not loading up such flimsy ones with so many boxes?

Simple bumpers, welded to the floor at the corners, could have prevented this. But if they want to be cheap, they pay the price.

The first thing I thought when I saw this video a couple of months ago was that it couldn't be in the US.

Simple safety and material regulations for construction of those types of racks would have prevented their collapse in the event of a forklift hitting them.

I used to work a forklift in a warehouse and the those types of racks are made of pretty stern stuff.

I'm thinking it had to be overseas somewhere.

The guy may have been drunk, but those shelves were an accident waiting to happen.

Ditto that. Those shelves folded like a cheep suit. You can't put heavy loads on flimsy stuff like that.
