DUBAI (Reuters Life!) Dubai's boom may have fizzled, but you can still live the high life perched atop the world's tallest building as the glitzy Gulf emirate unveils one of the world's highest restaurants.
Atmosphere, on the 122nd floor, is one private elevator ride up the glass and chrome Burj Khalifa...

That be it on the left.
wasn’t there a thread posted recently about how Dubai’s buildings and islands were wearing away and collapsing? If they use the type of steel and cement I think they do I’m not sure I’d want to be in that restaurant on a busy night.
Wait, what?
“That be it on the left”
And that be me be at the 0 meter mark - with no plans of going a single centimeter higher, LOL.
The tallest building ever.
Built on sand.
By slave labor.
On a tight budget due to bankruptcy.

Slave labor that hated the overlords...
“Slave labor that hated the overlords...”
And with salt water easily accessible, right near the concrete mixer :)
Yes. Those stupid palm shaped islands are sinking. I cannot imagine how these skyscrapers are going to hold up. I do not think it is going to hold up.
Contrast that with something like the Florence Cathedral (Duomo) in Italy which is over 600 years old.
Or the Pantheon in Rome with the first dome ever built and ut still looks great. 1,886 years old. Or Konstantbasilica in Germany which is still in use about 1700 years old.
How does salt water work in mixing concrete? My guess - not so good.
122 floors up. Definitely my worst nighmare. I am a floor 1-5 girl.
Many/most of the Dubai highriser's have been built on dry land. I would expect many of them to outlive you, and I.
The Pantheon was built on a hill...in Rome. Quite a few miles from the Mediterranean Sea.
But Vienna was a perfect place to build, eh?
Many people in the past have screwed up...in placing their homes, their towns. Has nothing to do with where the people gave from, or were.
It seems you are attempting to weave "thought" to fit your thinking....
I can give you plenty of examples that maybe will make you think..more. Just ask.
FWIW-
