wasn’t there a thread posted recently about how Dubai’s buildings and islands were wearing away and collapsing? If they use the type of steel and cement I think they do I’m not sure I’d want to be in that restaurant on a busy night.

The tallest building ever.
Built on sand.
By slave labor.
On a tight budget due to bankruptcy.

We’ll see some fun pictures soon enough

Yes. Those stupid palm shaped islands are sinking. I cannot imagine how these skyscrapers are going to hold up. I do not think it is going to hold up.

Contrast that with something like the Florence Cathedral (Duomo) in Italy which is over 600 years old.

Or the Pantheon in Rome with the first dome ever built and ut still looks great. 1,886 years old. Or Konstantbasilica in Germany which is still in use about 1700 years old.

How does salt water work in mixing concrete? My guess - not so good.

I have cars older than that silly tower, and I'll still be driving them after it falls over.

When you "make" islands....and then build on them, it can be risky.

Many/most of the Dubai highriser's have been built on dry land. I would expect many of them to outlive you, and I.

The Pantheon was built on a hill...in Rome. Quite a few miles from the Mediterranean Sea.

But Vienna was a perfect place to build, eh?

Many people in the past have screwed up...in placing their homes, their towns. Has nothing to do with where the people gave from, or were.

It seems you are attempting to weave "thought" to fit your thinking....

I can give you plenty of examples that maybe will make you think..more. Just ask.

FWIW-
